I have about 250 packages of 35mm film shot between Jan 92 and Jan 02 at Livingston, MT, Glendive, MT and various other points. I upgraded cameras at some point in that era and so the quality improves. I am going to have to get a tripod and do better re photoing these with my digital camera and then posting them here. Hopefully this will be fun!
These teaser photos are from Glendive in Feb and March 99.
A ready to work SD40-2 and a pair of GP15-1's on local service.

And a pair of SD60M's, with a MAC trailing..... PIC_0554.JPG
So, anyway, stay tuned for more interesting stuff!

    Unfortunately, no scanner, yet . . . .

And more from the same months/year, Feb 99, a buddy and I went chasing trains on what was a busy day. This is just west of Glendive about 3 miles looking west-ish. First, a coal empty with some -7's leading a pair of 40's. PIC_0574.JPG
And then a pair of GP's on the Miles City local heading west, PIC_0576.JPG
Then a loaded coal train with what was a NEW MAC at the time! Fun, even in the cold! PIC_0581.JPG
    PIC_0580.JPG
    PIC_0582.JPG

    Fun!

And the last from that Feb/Mar 99 today, a SF oddity, PIC_0578.JPG
A new GE that was rushed out of the plant without finishing the paint and decals, I kinda like it. PIC_0583.JPG
And a National Railway Equip lease unit of obvious heritage! Slobbering SP fans may need tissue! PIC_0589.JPG
And another from them, dubious heritage, unless someone can enlighten me. PIC_0590.JPG
    And a worn GP-50. PIC_0585.JPG

The paint scheme on the 6202 U-Boat looks like it may have come from the AutoTrain of the 1970s. Then again, maybe not....?

Hytec - I was thinking it was a MARC passenger paint job. We built some GP40-2's for them when I worked at M-K in Boise, and they had a very similar paint job.

Box- Thanks! Primer gray works well to cover yeller!

Alan, I thought it looked sorta like the U-36Bs that AutoTrain had early on. Though I think you're probably right about being MARC cast offs.

I’m assuming you are talking about the GP40WH-2, and the paint scheme is kind of similar, but according to the Wikipedia roster, MARC never had U boats. I see “Auto Train” on the sides of them, so it seems like they are ex-auto train.

I'll bet BNSF 4202 is a former Metro North Commuter Rail unit. This railroad operates in the New York metro area. The paint looks horrible, but familiar.

It is a B23-7, and it is from Metro North. Some trains are just so weird or ugly thar it makes them cool. It looks like the Metro North ones were sold by BNSF to some leasing company in 1999. There were 3 or 4 of them. It looks like they kept the Santa Fe B23s a while longer.

Here're a few from Oct 94 in Livingston at what was Livingston Rebuild Center. This was in the old NP/BN backshops where everything from car wheel rebuilding, car repairs, locomtive repair and rebuilding and paint went on until they shuttered the place around 2000.
Here's a couple freshly repaired and repainted boxcars, PIC_0591.JPG PIC_0592.JPG
A reworked, tested and freshly painted SD45. Sure did like these units!
