Jerry, I thought the video was really taken on your layout. Then Steve stepped into the picture and I honestly thought I was seeing a Green Screen application. Grin! I wonder, seeing Jerry step off his N scale trainmaster....now that would be awesome.
Thx for the explanation of flue sanding. OK Ken, you said sanding at night is spectacular, so where's your photo or video?
It has been very busy on the ATN lately, and I have not gotten much modeling time in. The work bench is loaded with things to do! LOL But, ATN is getting ready for a huge change. 5 new locomotives are in transit for testing, and they look something like this....... http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=2756980
The ATN is not buying them, but getting them for testing for EMD. They will all be painted in that blue/silver demo paint scheme. Long story how this all came to be and I will tell it when I have a little more time. But basically its a right place right time story.
Here's a short version of whats going on.... Progressive Rail in Alberville, one of our biggest customers was started by a local man. It was a scrap yard that continued to grow and grow. They moved into rail car services and were bought by Caterpillar. They continue to grow more. Caterpillar buys EMD. A union problem/disagreement shuts down the Canada EMD plant with 5 Demo SD70ACes there with new dynamic braking system. ATN has the steepest grades in Alabama, and the founder of Progressive Rail is there...wonder if ATN would be interested in testing local boys new toys. Answer...YES. Contract is drawn up, dynamometer cars sent to ProRail via ATN, locomotives in transit......let the testing begain.
Hoping this works out too.....Prorail is talking about building a huge locomotive shop and car repair shop in Alberville. Could be huge for the ATN.
Of course it will work out. Face it, Jerry, you obviously are the ATN's Best Test Engineer....at least in the minds of your TB buddies....!
