Unknown engine type needing handrails by Jesse Munoz, Belmont Shore Club. RS32? Maybe the number is wrong?
Some great pics! Nice to see this thread still alive and kicking - long live the Espee! Here's an SP manifest on crossing the Tuolomne River, while a Santa Fe hotshot crosses above. A railfan's dream shot. . . .
Short on power, a GP20/F7B/GP20 switch the San Antonio East Yard. These light engines will do until some six axle power returns form the workshop. All these are Life Like GP20 mechanisms. Thanks to Pete Nolan for the GP20/Bachmann shell idea!
I posted this on the Weekend Foto Fun but thought it would fit here also. The #6 Argonaut is charging across the Gulf Coast plains somewhere between Houston and New Orleans here. The power on the train today is one of the big T&NO P-13 Pacifics.
RSD5 SSW2890, still in black widow colors and set for bi-directional operation, adds some power for the run to Houston.
I just got the August "Trains" - pages 84 & 85 - a most excellent SP moment. Quite possibly one of the best pictures ever published in the magazine.
Jeff - Beautiful shot !! That code 55 really looks great - as does the lumber load. Gotta love that fully lit SP light package also! Long live the Espee
bummer, I was hoping I wouldn't be the next photo after that one, it looks even worse by comparison, oh well.. break the ice so others can post pics
Could not resist. The SP has survived on my railroad and the big hosses look good in black widow livery.
