Today I filled in the PNWC 76's windows and painted the sides white. The roof was painted aluminum and dullcoated. Still need to paint the underside boxes and tanks black.
Inside you can see the roof color better. I like to 'bake' them a little in the sun after painting. Let it set awhile and might add decals tonight or tomorrow.
Got the molded diaphrams painted black too. The red/white/blue strips wrap around the ends of this car.
I decided to get one side decaled before I head to bed. Here's the finished side, decal solution is still wet!
Got the end stripes on. On the real car the brake wheel is down in the red stripe and painted red. I'm leaving this one white and up high.
Lots of decal solution and lightly pressing with a soft brush got the decals to nicely settle over the rivits and details. Going to hit this with a light gloss coat, and add the trucks and then some grab irons and this car will be done.

Tool Car next to 4449. On the SP the Flats had to be behind the locomotive, but they sure look good together.
What I have done so far. The Flats are complete, the showcase cars still need window frames, and the tool car needs some grab irons.
