It all sounds good. Well, I need to back out of here for now and give others a chance. I'm still cleaning up the heat kinks and am now faced with a rather odd wiring project. Nothing but respect for your work and layout.
Not mine, but for those that liked my General Lee, this is the same model. Dont see them too often and this is a great starting price. Good Luck! http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-n-scale-c...522072?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item4605c53958
Mums got a Smart car, too bad we live on 9 acres out bush now (General Lee it perhaps?) Good to see the little people on the layout can now finally get commuter service Jerry!
Here tward the end of the clip the 844 is coming out from a tunnel and around Jerrys refinery! 2:40 get ready! Even has the round tank to the right with some cars.
That was too cool!!! Yep...that was the place! What an awesome view of it from an angle I never expected to see! Thanks for sharing that!
Man, what a video. That's the first time I've heard "chuffing" up close from a cab window....FANTABULOUS!!!! OK Jerry. you're next challenge is to mount a camera in the cab of one of your steamers and recreate that video. I think it's only fair seeing as how he showed you the real tank farm on his video...LOL
The good thing I learned from that video is that after the pipe bridge out to the bay, the tracks are in a tunnel, so leaving it 'dark' in there is closer to prototypical then I thought...which is alot better for me the way my layout is designed right now.
Jerry, it looked like the fireman was pouring a little sand into the firebox at one point. Was that to keep the flues and stack blower free of soot and ash?
Thats correct.....the sand acts like the cinders in a coal burning locomotive, scouring the flues and removing any build-up of soot.
