Just in from Germany: Life-Like GP60s N-Scale: There will be those that scoff at the announcement from AAT but they have gotten almost all of them right in the past except for some part numbers and the actual timing of certain releases. Just received in an e-mail from Life-Like and at least one U.S. distributor. MSRP of $95 and part numbers and road names as shown above! [ 02. Gee, that is interesting and puzzling.... I thought Atlas would nail this unit first, since they dominate the "GP" market Harold
HOLY SMOKES!! GP60's in N too??? I can't believe this!! Lifelike....would not have thought they would do 'em. But I do like their qulity these days. So, what's the deal with announcements out of Germany that don't come out elsewhere? Russ
Russ: The timing of announcements in Europe is totally different than in the U.S. They will get announced here it will just be a bit later in the process. [ 15. June 2004, 03:03: Message edited by: wig-wag-trains.com ]
HOLY MOLEY !!!!! GP60s in N!!! WOOOOO HOOOOOOO !!!!!! If they are as nice as the recent LL releases, these will be SWEET!! Lessee, in the last year, we've gotten tunnel motors, AC4400's, and SD70Ms (hopefully the standard cab/non flares are not too far off) It is a GREAT TIME to be modeling the modern SP & ATSF!! Dave
There is one downside to this bonanza in motive power, however. . . . Mr. Wallet is going to need to go on life support. Does anyone need any yard work done? My rates are very reasonable! Dave
Groan... a great time if you are a fat wallet, yes!! O help me! Will someone take up a collection for me?
I had two LL FAs on a 60 car freight train on our NTRAK layout last Friday. They just purred along real slow without a hitch for hours.
Interesting - any more news on the Model Power SW1500??? Were there multiple versions of the SW1500 hinted at?
Great news, but dont'cha hate that?Searching for years for a N Scale of Nevada GP 60 kit, just found one & won it on e-bay,now they release it typical Anyone want to buy GP60 kit????
Very, very excited about this. Plus, w/ a January release, can start to set aside a little cash. How about GP60M's & B's as well... So, any odds on if Atlas will release these in the future. I would've guessed they were already on the drawing board in NJ.
Hey, WELCOME to Trainboard but I can't help myself... GO BRONCOS Actually I'm a AFL Fan (Colorado Crush)
I have waited a long time for GP60s but unless Lifelike has turned over a new leaf and is making these with DCC ready frames, I'll have to wait longer.
Consider me a scoffer - AAT has a reputation for passing off speculation as official announcements. They have often got part numbers, road numbers and road names as welll as release dates wrong. Where is the LL RS11 they predicted over two years ago? I think its great that there may be a GP60 coming to N,, but I'll wait until a more reliable source confirms it, preferrably LL themselves.
OK, remind me who/what "AAT" is and what is their reputation/credibility like? I'm gussing if Wig-Wag trusts them, that's saying something. But, did they blow the RS11 announcement? Did they get anything else wrong? Russ
Nice units. Too bad BN didn't use them. May have to get a ATSF for pool power or a demonstrator unit for testing on various trains.
