Yeah, might do that too, being most of the display cars are all NYC 9100 class baggage cars...if I can find a good stand in or copy... I'm sure you have right?
Jerry, have you looked into the Trainworx flats, as they are the correct length, and close to the AFT cars. Now need to get me going on this train...being I'll have BN 1776 and 1876 to pull it. Not sure if I'll get a GS-4 to help out.
I got some of the Trainworks cars and they are really nice! The three flats I did already from Alan Curtis are pretty close too, and I will probably just keep them since they are already done.
Then again, what is 4ft in N scale... Curious to see how far you are in this train, be cool to see some pics of it all
Well about a year later....man does time fly!....heres the latest progress shots thanks to some pushing by Joe... This is the Pie car. Worked on the roof adding all the details I could. Vents, exhausts, stove exhaust. Still have a little bit more to do in it before its done but its getting there. Sometimes it is good to get away fromm a project for awhile and come back fresh.
Stove exhaust. On the side panel where there is no windows I am going to drill out holes and add the fans on each side.
Observation or Press Car got new air conditioning ducts on top. These are very noticable in photos and I really wanted to have something close. Still need to putty up around the bases to smooth the look out to the roofline before painting.
And last for now is the office or hospitality car. It was the simplest as it had a roofline close to the casting with only one vent to add.
Tonight I am finishing up the lounge or bar car. Another coach like the one above, but with air conditioner vents like the press car. Will post photos of it when I finish and all of them again when I finish with the painting and mounting of the roofs which should get rid of alot of the gaps showing in these photos.
I am going to finish up the roofs all this week and get them ready for painting. Add the diaphrams and these will be ready to take up the rear of the AFT.
The gap between these cars is pretty long and the diaphrams help, but I still think I am going to change to Z Scale couplers between these for a better look.
