Joe, I like what I am see in your layout. I am waiting for the other set. Its funny that you guys have problem with the cars. I dont have problems with derailment, but I only have one of the Marsilius cars. I run it with my Maklin passenger car in my office train special.
If I had to do my layout over again, I'd have waited for the larger radius track, but MT had not released those sections yet and well, I was just too impatient. Moving the couplers is a real easy and quick fix. It took only about 30 minutes, but I've been down that road before with cars in my N scale days so it was an easy fix to spot.
Joe, I was wondering why you went with such a tight radius when you had so much space. I forgot that you went with MTL's new ballast track, and I know what you mean. If I was to do my layout again, it would be no tighter then 220. Those brass AZLs dont like 195s.
I agree John, the worse part is I like the track plan that I have. Not to mention the fact all the time that went into ballasting that MT sectional track. I suppose I could redo the outer loop. Maybe when I get my christmas funds I could do like the real railroads do and invest in main line improvements!
UPDATE!!!! Marsilius has upgraded all cars to include blackened metal wheels! That's right... metal wheels! Marsilius has also adjusted the coupler placement and moved it out slightly to accommodate 195mm curves. Ztrack does have in stock UP and undecorated cars with the metal wheels. More road names are planned and we should have information soon. For more information and to order, visit: Ztrack Center: Marsilius 85' Passenger Cars Rob Kluz
I just got my last car that I ordered today and they do have the metal wheels and do work on 195mm track. Well done! Now, what are the metal wheels used? I am tempted to get metal for all my cars.
