wow, this is a tough choice! Hmmmm.....IM SP SD40T-2, snoot nose, L hogger window, UDE and Gyra light!!!
Wow this is an oldy from the past and yes i have changed my favorite from a SD45 to my Geep 9's and 7's MoPacs of course.
You know.....I have never been a big fan of the C 30-7......but those look awesome!! All that cascade green and black.....beautiful!! I currently model the BNSF as my main road but my roots are the BN Great photo!
Wow, a thread this old that I haven't posted in? How'd that happen? Old fav, and first loco: Atlas RS-11, BN, circa 1987. New fav: Tossup between IM D&RGW tunnel motors or Kato SD40-2 early, BN....
Hey Daylight, welcome aboard. Now back to the original question. Favorite? I don't need no stinking favorites. Now I'm not saying this to be mean to the originator of this thread. I think it's great the many have a favorite. For myself...I don't think so. Many of my "Favoured Locomotives" are those my family of rails operated. Sort of a sentimental trip...so to speak. Follow me on this issue and allow me to explain. First off there are the GP9's and SD 24's in Santa Fe Zebra Stripe outfits, the F3's in Western Pacific hunting apparel , F7's and SD9's SP's in the Black Widow attire, Santa Fe FT's, F3's and F7's in the Silver and Red Warbonnet proudly wearing their war paint, Rio Grande SD 7's in Bumble Bee Stripes and the SD 40T-2's and SD 50's trying to look fast in Speed Lettering. Did I mention The Rio Grande F3's and F7's in the Grande Yellow with Black Stripes? I didn't! Well, add them to the list. SP PA's and GS4 in the Daylight scheme trying to look like a western sunset. For sure there are others. Now how in the #@!! am I supposed to have a favorite. See my dilemma. Heck, I like them all and I can't wait for an evening dedicated to train operations, just to see them run. Of course my first loyalties are to the Santa Fe...and sorry no carry overs into the BNSF...stuff for me. Perhaps the SPSF thing. Simply because, it's the merger I would've chosen to go through. Oh well, maybe you need to pick a favorite for me! <Grin> Ok, after all I've said and after much thought my favorite is...Santa Fe FT's in the Cat Whiskers, the SP Back-ups, UP's Callenger and Big Boys and the N&W J & Y Classes. Oh well, I tried. <Grinning sheepishly>
One I received today. Kato Mikado with LokSound installed by Tony's. Nice sound but not loud, thank goodness. Ben
