Budd made solid coaches. There sure were a lot of RDC-1s that outlived their Detroit diesels and Allison torque converters.
The B&M had the largest North American inventory of RDC's with 108. The "T" picked up many, if not all of them.
I keep looking at that round "60" sign next to the road, seen at left in one of the photos. There is a state highway 60 somewhat north of Fairmont, but not going through there. It runs more or less near the tracks from the state line with Iowa all the way to slightly east of Mankato. The line there is UP's Worthington subdivision. At Butterfield, along highway 60, there is a Fairmont subdivision branching off and going south to the line that goes through the town of Fairmont. I haven't located a county road 60 around the area, though. Clues...

While I was growing up, the EMD cab was what what I pictured whenever I heard the word "DIESEL". Whenever I drew a train, that is what I tried to render. Although it was easier for me to draw a steam locomotive for some reason.
