Maybe someone can help. I have been searching everywhere for an indexed motorized N turntable, preferably the Walthers 130' but with absolutely no luck. Walthers apparently no longer makes them and everyone out there has been bought up. A few have shown up on Ebay but the price goes way to high for me. As an example there is one up at $400.00. Does anyone know of a similar alternative at a reasonable price? Does anyone know if Walthers plans on making them again? It needs to be somewhat compatible with Kato track. Thanks in advance, Bill
You are in luck, I happen to have an extra one still new in the box. Contact me offline if you are interested
The Original Whistlestop in Pasadena, CA had two of the Walthers 130' TTs as of yesterday. I believe they were the N Scale, but I can't say with absolute certainty, because I wasn't interested in them at the moment. The don't discount (AFAIK), but they also don't mark things up over list, and will ship things to ya. Assuming, of course, that you don't come to an agreement with DCESharkman.
I know a place that still had one in stock last time I visited. Send me a PM if you'd like the information. Adam
I ran into the same problem. I tried Caboose Hobbies, out of stock. I found one at WigWag, whose name I found on TrainBoard.
How well does this turntable work. Does it program well, work with DCC, etc.? or is it the type thing that always requires maintenance?
This table works very well (as long as sufficient voltage is present). It works just fine with either DC or DCC, and the bridge "auto-reverses" to ensure that polarity is always correct (you just have to make sure you wire the tracks leading in correctly). Indexing is done by a separate control box, and you program a position by simply pushing the "set" button.
Thanks for the response. I'm going to be starting a new layout soon and am thinking about getting one of these.
Mine has been reliable and truly wonderful. It does need to be kept clean, as the tiniest particle of dust or dirt in the mechanism can cause trouble. I think--my opinion only--it was very difficult to manufacture for sale at the original price. So Walthers may not be considering another run.
Well I have never heard back from MLFP&S So I still have an extra still in the original shipping box from Walthers if anyone is interested. Open to sale or trade.....
David, I think you are a victim of what is becoming endemic in the world - you graciously offered a solution and were then ignored. There has been weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth because the Atlas Code 55 flex supply has dried up - but the fellow who offered to sell 100 sticks on both N Scale Yard Sale AND the N_Scale Yahoo group has not sold (to my knowledge). Now if only someone had some IMRC 5161 Swooshes...
I have a whole bunch of those too. I had thought about dumping all of my modern stuff and moving all to the era of 1946 to 1960 on the ATSF though Arizona and into CA. But when push comes to shove and I do pull the trigger on the modern stuff, I will let you know. :tb-biggrin:
David...I woulda bought it...but...at 150.00 + for one of them sweet babies...right now the billfold just has dust :tb-wacky::tb-sad: .
They're both Yahoo Groups - go to groups.yahoo.com and search on "N_Scale" - note this is one of the original "boards" - I've been on it since I first got on the net - and is likely one of the largest. Other search is "N Scale Yard Sale" Good luck! BTW the same (or another) has just surfaced on the Atlas N Forum...
Walthers turntables are coming back. Just saw the announcement on Featherrivertrains.com They're coming DCC equipped, sounds so-fis-ta-kay-ted.
