4203 has an ugly sister, the 4260. Also, you gotta love the oxide-red primer job on the switcher, complete with missing grill:
Does Jeff Foxworthy know about this diesel? Why do I have the feeling that switcher is run by a crew of rednecks? (ducks to avoid incoming Bud beer bottles)
Not exactly bad paint, but........ BNSF 505. Location/photographer unknown. Will add that detail if known.
I've seen photos of that purple-brown color before on BNSF wreck repairs. However, the huge amount of patching doesn't fit with any likely wreck damage. It has to have been taken between 2001 and 2004: http://railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=43139 and http://railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=54412
Thanks for the research--she sure looked better in Warbonnet paint! Fire damage? I have been jonesin' to post this one, a classic example of bad paint happening to a good diesel: (it's almost vandalism, if you ask me!)
That Borg-patched SD50 is about as bad as the BN-stenciled Frisco power after the merger. Matter of fact, anything Borg-patched is pretty much fair game for this thread.
SOuthwestern RR GP7u 2171, used as motive power on the Wyoming-Colorado RR, Saratoga, WY. Looks like something Mehanotechnika would foist on gullible model railroaders.........
HATX GP40-2 502, ex-Guilford 502, former Boston & Maine, on Georgia & Florida Railnet, Albany, GA. Notice B&M blue peeking thru in places.
LLPX GP40 3109 on the lead of the SAM Shortline train, leaving Cordele for Plains. It's an ex-CSX unit (and I'm guessing B&O, or one of the other Chessie System lines, judging by the slot in the battery box). Orange don't hold up well in the SOuth (and orange is my alma mater's color).
Where's the Espee "Desert Storm" paint scheme. Or the lack of paint scheme? That's always a good one.
How about primer? "Stealth" GEVO 7532 on the point of a SB Roadrailer train, Brosnan Yard, Macon, GA.
