WOW! great looking model. you're doing a super job on it, too. congratulations, jurg. i sent you a PM. dave
Jurg, you are doing such a good job that I am sending you all my laser kits. You will do a much better job, and I am lazy.
Last step for the moment I'll try to place some LED Lighting under the Roof before closing the Auction House by mounting the Roof. It's not possible to make the Roof moveable, so the Heck why did I pay for the Carpenters when their work is not longer visible ;-)
Nice! It looks like you really have some skills Jürg! The finish and detail is just right, down to the animals, weeds, dirt, and hay.
Thanks for the nice words Rob. I may not have the best skills but I've a lot of patience and be sure I know how to take pictures without showing all the broken or missplaced parts
Jürg, I'm sure you know this but I thought I would share my thoughts. Don't install to bright of lighting in the holding pens, the lights in the office should be brighter than the others. I don't know how you are going to wire this up, but if you can put a different resistor or something to dim the lights. I say this as most of the livestock auctions that I've been to have so much dust in the holding pens that they aren't the brightest places to be. Also they keep it brighter in the office so they can see to collect their money. Just thought that I would throw my thoughts out there for you. Even if you're hiding broken pieces in your pictures, nice work.
I find the idea from Kim also good. Sometimes such building are partely repaired with modern materials. So some transparent covered strip could fit. Nobody look for the monument side here. For the LED and the simplicity of use, I would take a golden white 3mm. (like in GP35) If you put resistor from 1500-2700 Ohm, you will have some dim light like with old bulbs.
jurg, have you considered using some thin, clear glass or plastic and making a series of skylights in the roof over the office and/or the auction site? just an idea. dave
Juerg, great work, the wodden stuff is realy working for you! It's the same thing with me: it's a shame to hide the details, but the most important thing is: I KNOW THEY ARE THERE!
Jürg, depending on the year (material available by year restriction) the skylight idea could be prototypicly correct. As a everthinking auction house owner could've installed them to try and get a few extra minutes before turning the lights on to save on the old electric bill. This could allow you to show off some nice detail in the kit without doing something that wouldn't have been done in the real world.
Thanks for the help! Actually I think I'm going to this solution but I need 50+ Rob Rays Kit's and spend 1000$ in Preiser Animals
