Me 'n ms eBay went a little nuts .. I have at least ten new locomotives. But this one I think is the prettiest:
Do they all run o.k.? These models from Atlas have had issues with the sproket found in the flywheels being cracked and making the loco run eratically. If you call Atlas, they will send you a new set which is made of stronger material. When you remove the sproket from the flywheel you will have to look at the sproket under a magnifying glass to see if it is cracked. If it were me, and I have replaced the ones on my 3 locos, I would just call Atlas and replace them. I beleive if you look on their website that shows the illustrated parts breakdown you will see a crossed out number for the downchange part and a pencilled in number for the upchange part.
Glennac, Found the set on eBay - been looking for the F3s for some time. They arrived today so I took a pic. Need to order decoders for them. John
It IS well done .. but I'm distracted by the bunny hop going on in the background. ;-) Those are HUGE rabbits!
Opposite ends of the spectrum! But the little guy in the front is pulling a few logging cars just fine. I don't think I'll be able to use it, with the UP Excursion set, though Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Something to contribute after a long time... I finally broke down and bought the Walthers Dairy Queen kit (the "classic" not the "Grill and Chill"). DQ was a treasured part of my youth, so it will find a place on the layout eventually.
Not exactly my latest purchase (Bought this a couple of weeks ago) But $50 for this Logging Diorama was a pretty good deal.
I was really surprised and happy when I placed a "back order" with Kato last weekend for a CalTrain MP36PH-3C, and it shipped on Monday!
More Tortoise and Caboose industries ground throws-finishing up the coal and Ethanol plant sections-all track laid up there....on to the main yard and then the Intermodal yard.
Bought a MT Runner pack of Texaco tank cars off Ebay along with a new air compressor for my painting efforts. My other compressor was too loud and would scare the heck out of me when it would kick on. This completes my Texaco tank car fleet to go with the Texaco storage facility. I think I am done with purchasing engines and rolling stock. Turning now to scratch building and painting.
A Great Northern Passenger train. Enough additional equipment for a GN mail train. Heck we can even handle a local making switch moves at a grain elevator. No pictures...yet!
FINALLY got M/T Heavyweight Work Train !!! I've been wanting it for what seems like forever. Am I the only one that wishes it wasn't "pre-weathered" ???
Glad my FVM SD70Ace engines arrived. They run well and the detailing is superb, much better than the Kato.
I just get my KATO SDP40F It a real nice model! I have a little problem with the coupler. They always uncouple when the train is releasing or pushing back. What kind of Kadde coupler do you suggest?
