Got LOTS of goodies over the last few days !!! First, picked up 2015 Walther's catalog. Received AFT Release #10 on Wed. Received 3 Bluford transfer cabeese today: 1 in BN, and 2 in EJ&E. Just returned from LHS after buying Atlas GP 38-2 in ICG. So nice to be working again !!!
Latest AFT release a couple of days ago. And all the Lionel parts that were needed in order to do some quick repairs on a couple of cars I was given, during club train show mid Dec. Still want to do a deep clean yet, before sending things back. And hoping I feel a bit better first! Feel as if fighting something off. Don't the greatest, but not getting any worse right now, so.....
I ran across special run MTL car decorated for the fictitious Texas and African HO layout of Lat Lattimore outside Fort Worth, Texas. It is a wood car a little old fashioned for my 1957-era layout, but I can run it in my period "movie filming train" or in a special exhibition train. The reporting markets of Texas and African are "T&A" which may have an R-rated connotation for a variety of "girly picture" seen in men's magazines. But my interest is in the Texas and African layout. It was in HO scale and I run N. But I have scratchbuilt an N scale model of Lattimore's train barn with an N model of an elaborate Lionel tinplate O-gauge layout in the loft. I am not uploading a picture of my T&A boxcar, but I already have a picture of the barn on "railimages."
the 2015 n&z reference book, 16 piece E-Z track elevated pier set, and an 8 piece E-Z track tall pier set. Havent used the pier sets yet, but been enjoyin the reference book
Two of the Fox Valley Models Milwaukee Road transfer cabooses, A drilling fixture for tortoise and Bluepoint switch machines, 4 IMRC georgia kaolin ACF 4650 covered hoppers. And for christmas I received 3 Minneapolis, Northfield and Southern ExactRail 5200 Gunderson Box cars. Just need to weather those bright white box cars!! Wyatt
Got a great deal on a D&RGW box car (Atlas) that had a custom installed Richmond Controls FRED (track powered with capacitor) and Sunrise FRED for $10! It would have cost me near $50 to build one of these if I could find the parts!
Now you'll be able top lay with the "dither effect" on those two FEF's Nick. Have fun with it. Shades
An Athabasca VIA baggage car kit. Now I just need to figure out if I should cut up the core kit that came with it or to mount the brass sides on a Walthers Pullman-Standard 72' Baggage Car after extending it slightly.
About 60 new pieces of rolling stock, mostly tank cars. Some fill in the holes in the roster locomotives. About 30 decoders to install.
Picked up my Bachmann 2-8-0 converted to DCC & sound. Thanks to McLean Depot. Next step decaling. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
My last purchase for my train layout was last week. I ordered rock molds and some assorted track sections.
Back in March at a swap meet picked up 2 Atlas 2 Micro-Trains & 1 Intermountain freight cars. Best deal was used Kato NKP 2-8-2 and 5 Micro-Trains troop seepers & 1 troop kitchen car for $100.
My latest is pretty mundane. A bunch of different MT couplers and conversions for locos and cars neglected for quite a long time and some new needle files that, as far as I'm concerned, have already paid for themselves in the process of adding Z scale couplers to the pilots of an Atlas 0-4-0 with tender, an Atlas 0-8-0, a Bachmann 4-8-4 and a Bachmann 2-8-0. Next up will be some more Z scale couplers for some Atlas and Con-Cor light and heavy Pacifics and Con-Cor Hudsons. If I were starting over, I would be very tempted to use Z scale couplers throughout. Doug
