AnAtlas RS-3 in CNR custom paint, she's a beauty! Not DCC but after destroying the shell on my new GP 38 during a failed repaint project, I needed a boost for my morale. This ought to do it! I also bought a replacement shell - Undecorated, uh oh!
I was down at Chuck's shop today to pick up a new loco, an Atlas N scale Western Pacific U23B: I also picked up a couple of pieces of a collection that Chuck is selling. They're a pair of Micro-Trains WP FMC 50' box cars: Finally, while Chuck and I were shooting the breeze, the mailman shows up with a package for Chuck. He opens it up and says, "Wow!, These are so cool!" The package had some Atlas/ George Hollwedel custom painted WP 40' PS boxcars. Beside the beautiful paint job, these have really nice detail parts and body mounted couplers:
A KOBO GEVO with DCC of course. I'm putting my layout back together and wanted a nice new Loco to run on it.
Dad ordered, for me, the set of Rio Grande Executive Line Cars being offered through Lowell Smith. Getting one for B-day next month and the other for Christmas. Only due to cost of cars!! Which is fine by me! Early Oct should see the order placed for the next installment of the American Freedom Train.
I was finally able to purchase the Hallmark ATSF DL-107 & DL-108 (Miss categorized as DL-109 & DL-110). Any way-- ETA to my door-- this afternoon - 09/24. Can't wait, for this work day to be over, Wolf
Picked up a couple of Kato viaduct track sections and a double track bridge from local Hobby Town to day. Seriously looking at dumping the Atlas C55 track I have, and building a Kato unitrack viaduct layout instead. Maybe a couple photos of what I have set up for now.
An air hose filter for my airbrush and a digital caliper. Already the caliper has come in handy by showing me that I bought the wrong diameter brass tube for my scratchbuilding project. I knew the diameter of the tube. However, I wasn't sure of the diameter of the part which was supposed to go in it.
WOW!!!!!!!!! I do hope you left some for the rest of us. Is the railroad well stocked or do you have some left on the list?
I left plenty of rolling cars on the table so to speak. I have about 200 more locomotives to liquidate. I am aiming to get the right ratio of rolling stock to locomotives. The final goal is 50 cars per locomotive. I am being selective in the rolling stock, limiting it to just a few roads with a small allotment of run-through cars.
Acquired my first Milw locos today. (thanks Boxcab) Always liked the history of this line just never got into collecting like I have with other roads. Here's a shot of them hard at work doing some switching on a siding. Maybe this is a start of another obsession?? Brian
Why not? You live just across the waters from MILW country. Plenty close enough! BTW- Thanks for the photo!
Many times driving on I-90 just east of Ellensberg I've fascinated over the old Milw trestle that crosses the highway. If I ever get my high trestle finished I can re-create the scene (sorta) Brian ps. updated the pic to a much better one. Still learning my wife's camera.
That would be the bridge at Renslow. Greg Lussier built a gorgeous N scale version, plus a very detailed scene at Boylston, the next station east of there. Both should be in our N Scale Forum message archives. Also see: http://www.northwestrpm.com/Greg_Lussier.htm
Just received my Lowell Smith Executive Line Rio Grande cars. Beautiful in photos, even better in person!! Now, have to decide which one I get to keep now. The other will be held until Christmas! Couple photos to follow shortly.
Got my two DRGW Executive Lines business cars yesterday... very nice!! Next ones will be Southern Pacific... looks like I be getting more business cars for next spring.
My Kato turntable showed up today. Had to chance the mail lady for it though, as she left a card in my door since I wasn't there at the time. Lowest speed chase ever. Got the turntable set up and still figuring it out, but it works and it looks great.
