I was able to track down a pair of NIB Alaska Railroad SD70macs, I got myself and my wife hooked on Railroad Alaska tv show. I dropped a hint about the upcoming Kato cars and she was on board. If I could not find the SD70's then I was not going to pre-order the passenger cars. Before I get beat up, I do not believe they are prototypical but, it is close enough in my book.

I got the new Kato Autoracks. They are very nice cars, but they seem a little light. Need to add some weight if they are going to be tail end cars.....

Been on an EBay buying binge lately. Hard to say which I bought first, or which got delivered. Mostly freight cars like coil cars, ore hoppers, etc. that I need to model the IHB, plus some Atlas undec shells and SD35 and SD24-6 so I can someday kitbash those into the IHB SD20 model.

Also a few NW2 and sent those, a GP38 and two SD40-2 shells to a painter to get them in the IHB scheme (with the SD40-2 actually being SD38 on the IHB, one unchanged)

If books can count, then I think I did good tonight !!
Donated, indirectly, from the CRRM, to BMRC members, were 3 large boxes of books.
    All of them Colorado rail Annuals - #15, #17, #18 and #20.
    FREE
If not grabbed by Roy, the books would have been THROWN AWAY!!
So, I grabbed one of each. About $100 in books.
Also discovered that I have a duplicate, as a result!!
I now have an extra copy of Rail Annual #17. Shrink wrapped, so complete with map packet and in perfect shape!
    Not a bad deal!

These two of the BLI IC E6A units arrived earlier this week. They are the only IC passenger equipment on my layout, however if Kato comes through with their announcement, a 10 car passenger train will join them.
I had not given much thought to my personal experience with the Illinois Central Railroad passenger service, until I saw the Broadway Limited Imports and then the Kato USA announce of the IC offerings. In May of 1957, my senior high school class took a trip from Effingham, IL to New Orleans on the IC.
During the following "college" years, I made many trips within Illinois on IC. I just found a 1958 schedule in my cache.
Now I am seeking a local inter-change between B&O in Illinois and the IC; I think they crossed at Edgewood, IL.

I have its B&O cousin, but needed a Chessie for my roster. I love these Life Like switchers.

Just took delivery on 2 Kato EMD SD70ACe's in NS Horsehead livery!! Got the decoders in and programmed and they run real sweet pulling the CMX tank to clean my track. All promptly shipped by Robin Fifer.

    Thanks

My British N-gauge adventure begins with the delivery of these...

Really good detail on their rolling stock.

I've found out (thanks to advice from British N-gaugers) something I never realized/thought of. Even though British N-gauge is 1:148, British rolling stock is much smaller than NA so they fit nicely on my layout so I can break them in and "play" with them until the new layout is completed in some far off future date.

Good to see another NA modeler who is dabbling in UK modelling!

This little guy came in from overseas a few weeks ago:

Dapol did an excellent job with the 57xx, even though mine has a bit of a wobble in it.

I took the next step in creating my plow train (naturally towards the end of winter) and got my hands on a Kato F7A. I only hope that I didn't misjudge how much easier it will be to strip the decals and repaint it from its current SP paint scheme compared to not needing to deal with the second headlight on the Pennsylvania one the seller also had available.

This is assuming I can't find the correct Undecorated/CN Kato or Intermountain shell.

Yeah, thanks! I'm excited to get into British outline N-Gauge. I've been learning tons from the folks at ngaugeforum. They are very friendly and helpful bunch.

So, you're happy with your Dapol?

I like the 57xx, despite its wobble. (Probably due to the plastic wheel centers)

The handrails didn't unclip from the cab very well, but now that I have the decoder installed, I'll probably just tack them back in with CA glue until I decide if I want to install a sound decoder.

Waiting on mine yet. Haven't heard anything either.
