Hunting, Fishing, Hiking, Camping, Sport Shooting, Reloading, Railfanning, Working away in my garden, growing my tomato, garlic, and pepper crop (Yes, we do grow hot peppers up here in the great white north, allbeit not as hot as those grown by the good folks in the southern extremities), Cooking (A skill I started to learn when I was 8 years old), Sitting back and enjoying a good action flick while enjoying a nice cool wet ((alcoholic beverage in Canadian navy slang), Most music (don't really care for Disco or Rap), Reading, and, of course, those special times when the wife feels the need for a little more attention.
    Happy Modeling.
    Cheers.

Our son "used to" have a Burmese Python (12 feet) until it swallowed his hand the day before his 25th birthday. He had to get water in the bathtub and drown the critter in order to slip plastic cards down between the teeth and his hand to slip it out. He didn't entend to kill the snake, it just took that long before the snake would quit inching up his arm! (His mom is happier now). Now he has dogs, but we have a parrot, "Rambo" that could probably do some serious damage to you too! Our neighbors tell people, "Never mind their dog, watch out for their parrot!".

Mr. Pinkley, in the immortal words of #1 Engineer on the "Good End", you couldn't switch a boxcar of roses from between two gons of s**t! You couldn't read a switch list if you had an interpreter! As you all can see this is another one of our hobbies, bashing each other to death!

    Other hobbies EH!
These days I do a lot of wood work making this or that for the house and my kids keep me busy with requests for furniture and stuff.
My other main interest is computer graphics and find the 3d stuff challenging. I still do a fair number of oil paintings and am begining to experience watercolours.
I enjoy watching University football as well as the CFL and NFL
I do a lot of hiking. Close to here is the Bruce trail which is just over 700kms in length and goes from Niagara Falls to Tobermorry on Lake
Huron. I have been fortunate to do some hiking in the Rocky Mountains which I really like.
I still have some RC model aircraft but haven't been active with them in a while.
I had a web site for 3 years but just deleted it as it is getting difficult to find good reliabel free web hosting. In any case, I would rather spend the time on my layout.

Lessee...things to do apart from model railroads...Go to work, come home, go back in when they call and say it's an emergency, take care of both kids, get deployed...

But seriously, I do like railfanning (occasionally), reading and refereeing youth soccer.

Like NSCALEMIKE said, besides working 50+ hours a week, and commuting 45 minutes each way, riding my motorcykle. And fortunately here in LA you can do that 10-11 month a year.

Work keeps me very busy of late, but when I have time, I love to build websites (I have SIX!), watching selected TV programmes, especially wildlife ones, lots of reading especially science fiction and autobiographies (Nelson Mandela's Long Walk to Freedom has to be the best), holidays abroad with my wife and friends and having visitors from places like Sydney, Australia :D (And maybe from the USA?)

Drinking good wine, beer and spirits :D

I also spend a lot of time on the internet taking to my friends around the world, and moderating this site, both give me great pleasure [IMG]

Well, now the weather is getting colder, the trains are back in season.

In fact this is the first time I have checked in with the forums this season.

    My hobbies in order:

Computer Hardware (I run an evolving liquid cooled Athlon)
N Scale DCC transition era layout (gotta love that NCE)
And gotta have a vice... Good Cigars!

...so now I gotta get to sorting through the posts. ;)

Well, being a BARR (Born Again Rail Roader), I'm playing with both 'N' and 'HO' guages at the moment, stay at home playing Mr. Mom, as I got laid off a month ago, and the Job scene in Arizona SUCKS right now, and the wife went back to work about 2 months ago, and just got promoted to manager, and a BIG raise, so I'm content to sit home with the kids, Daughter (4), and Son (7).

Other hobbies...here's one I haven't seen anyone list yet...High Power/Amateur Rocketry. I've been building rockets, and making my own propellant for the past 4 years, with the largest motor 4" in diameter, 40" long, and had 13lbs of propellant...it was flown in a 9.25" Phoenix that weighed 93lbs at liftoff, and went up 6,000 ft.
Also into shooting...Pistols and Ex-Military weapons.
