Mama and I are exchanging the bare minimum this year.
In three months we are going to Holland and that's where we'll spend our Christmas funds! She asked me if I wanted some trains from there. I just smiled. That means, "YES"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also wish for good health, good luck, and good railfanning to all my friends in TB.

Ahh! Trains from Holland! I came back with over $1000 in trains when I went on my first trip there.
I found a brand called Fleischmann that were just impeccable. Their steam locomotives were detailed perfectly.
I wanted to get one of their indexing turntables, but ran out of money on that trip, so I have to add that to my "Wish List" [IMG]

Much better list that I could come up with. and actually, it's the best of all I've read.

For the record (and going off topic), this year's United Way fund drive has come & gone, and I designated all of my contribution to the Council 10 Council, Boy Scouts of America. I was a Scout and a Scouter, and my sons were Cub Scouts (rank of Webelos). I know what the Scouting program has done & what it can do, and in this age of relative morality and permissiveness, the values that BSA teaches is needed now more than ever. Do like Pierce and others have done- volunteer time, money (or both) to the cause of your choice.

    OK, back on topic now....

Bob, you are right on with the Boy Scouts. I cannot repay the BSA for the learning, experience, education, just all around good times that I received from them. I did merit badge counseling for many years after I ceased "active duty." Despite the smears that the BSA have received by the press and other commie organizations, they are a great outfit. Keep supporting them. :D

First, welcome to Trainboard, and I hope all your worldly possessions do make it over in good shape.

Second, you got me beat in long-distance moves. I thought I was pushing it doing 22 hours behind the wheel of a Penske rental truck, but you got me beat in spades! Good luck with your relocation.

I second the motion for a healthy and happy Christmas and New Years for everyone.

I'm currnetly out of the train business, unless you include the train currently running under our Christmas tree, until our basement is finished.

Both of my 4X8 layouts are hanging from the garage ceiling until then. Once the basement is finished I'll eventually be working on an around-the-room layout in one of the new bedrooms. Even being around-the-room, it's pretty much stuck at being around 9' wide at the most. It'll be a challenge working in space for switching, a "local" train running around the lower section, and a "long-haul" continuous running train running in the hills above. Wanting to throw in a loop-back, as well as possibly crawling up the walls to loop around the family room ceiling in the next room.

I'm afraid my wants are too much for what little room I have... Sounds like my budget too!

Well, the most important thing is also the least interesting. I need a box of good old Atlas Cd 83 track. Everything else would be nice, but I really need the track. Right behind that is a new airbrush to replace the one I had stolen a couple of months ago. For a while I was usinf my ild Testors Aztek A320, but it's just plain wore out and I can't get it to spray anything at this point. [IMG]

Beyound that, a few other things that are topping my interest list, though several of them aren't out yet...

Oregon Rail Supply's Menomaumee Falls Depot, which will be the "old" station on my layout. After the "new" station was built it was converted into a dance hall. I may also use it as a flag stop for the commuter train.

Here's one I want, but can't figure out of it exists yet. In the Vehicles section of the 2003 Walthers catalog they advertise several ladder trucks for my fire department, including pictures of them. The mystery is that neither Walthers nor Boley list these trucks on their web sites!!! Whats even more annoying, Boley won't respond to emails about them.

The new Walthers American Hardware Supply building, I have a space reserved for it on my layout at 4th Street and Railroad Ave.

The re-release of the Atlas C424 and C425 in undec so I can paint them in SP&S when I get by airbrush and run them when I get my track.

A set of the Accurail GN Canton hoppers.

A Kato Business car in NP. Yes, i know it's wrong, but it's almost cool enough to be worth buying anyway [IMG]

Some Walthers wood cabooses in GN and undec. THe general rule is if GN had them then the SP&S probably did too, and they are really nice cabooses.

Anyway, while I'm dreaming there are a bunch of other things I'd like to have, but those are what comes to mind at the moment. I'm at the point where I really don't NEED any more rolling stock, but I always like it.

Money is tighter this Christmas than some in my past. What is really on my wish list, is that I wish I had the money to buy a decent train set to donate to a child.

Well, I know for a fact that I have a Rail-Lynx transmiter and receiver comeing to me. With a bit of luck I probubly will be getting an Arbour Models 2-6-6-6 Allegheny kit, which should keep me pretty busy for a while ;)

Other than that I'm not sure, but that in itself is a fair amount of booty for christmas [IMG]

    To quote myself...
Well my wife says she got me a pair off Ebay and they are new, but I can't see them until Christmas. She even had them shipped to her place of work so I can't snoop [IMG]
I just hope that I wasn't bidding against her for them! What a gal! I don't even want to know what she had to pay for them.

Thank you Lord. I have been trying to get on this site for two days. Have I been blackballed? This is the first forum I have been able to open. For Christmas I would like to get back here again. :(
