As the Holiday season approaches, what items are sure to be on everyone’s list? With all the new products out there, we certainly have a lot to choose from. New locomotive? Expand your rolling stock? By the way, I think the quality of the new generation of locomotive and car kits in HO and N is simply outstanding? Is anyone going to make the switch to a new DCC or sound system? Do you trust you significant other or family members to pick the right gift or do you place the order and give them the bill?
As long as I don't get an engineer's hat or wooden whistle, I'll be ok. I'd of course like a new loco, maybe a SP geep or something like that. It would be nice to get some Athearn Genesis rolling stock. I wouldn't consider spending $20 on a car that I didn't even get to assemble... but that doesn't mean I wouldn't like somebody ELSE to spend $20 on it
How about our household income expanding enough, so that we can all keep up with the tons of great stuff coming out!!!! Boxcab E50
ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS TOOT TOOT TOOT, TOOT TOOT TOOT, TOOT TOOT TOOT, ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS TOOT TOOT TOOT SO I CAN HAVE A MERRY TOOT TOOT *TAKES BOW*

The new Fine Scale Miniatures kit is number 1 on my wish list. I should be very busy this winter building FSM kits. I have purchased Duffy's Coal Yard, and Watchworks as well. HO HO HO Merry Christmas to me.
The NIKON I have always wanted, to shoot live steam with. I know, I'm a dinosaur, but Nikon makes the best glass in the world. I just bid on one and got it on ebay. If it arrives in time, my wife says it's my present. We're talking 35mm SLR, not digital. That's next.
Dear Santa, I have been naughty. Please leave plenty of lumps of coal in my stocking, and some coal cars that I can store it in, as a reminder of my bad deeds
Dear Santa, I've been a bad boy. Please leave me plenty of coal and water, I need it to fill the tender to this big steamer to get the job done and do a good deed for the new year! And I consume alotta coal and water... afterall, a 2-8-8-4 needs alot to go the distance.. Its a long stretch from December 25th till January 1st!
I don't dare ask for any more train "stuff". I still have a whole bunch of scenery material and some structure kits left over from last Christmas. I never guessed how busy I would be after I retired ... doing NOTHING! [ 22. November 2002, 14:53: Message edited by: Hank Coolidge ]
I want a pair of Kato F-7A's. Ebay is the possibility for these and I have come up empty handed so far. I will NOT pay a ridiculous price for a pair so it will probably be socks, jeans and a gift certificate again this year. Yawn....
Herman here is the entire Kato listing at Ebay: http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?cgiurl=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2Fws%2F&MfcISAPICommand=GetResult&query=Kato+&categoryid=&ht=1&category1=479&SortProperty=MetaEndSort&Basi cSearch=&from=R2&catref=C3
Three words- Frisco Russian Decapod I've seen the Bachmann Spectrum model in action, and aside from the doghouse on the tender being off-center, it's a sweet-running steamer. It's only a coincidence that the missus is standing behind me reading this....
Before I would wish any material things for myself, I would first wish that all those in our Trainboard family who are ailing be restored to good health. Next, I would wish for money in the form of a couple of substantial grants to the Danbury Railway Museum to finance several restoration projects. Finally, I would wish for a small grant to Special Olympics Connecticut, Northwest Region, to cover the cost of the softball program in which I coach. [ 23. Peirce, inspired by your reports of your team there in Connecticut, I have resumed my contributions to Special Olympics. We retirees must be careful with discretionary funds, and I tend to contribute to my church. This year the local Special Olympics folks will receive.
Fitz, I am extremely grateful for your doing this. I am sure the local program to which you plan to contribute will be equally grateful. I agree that there is no way we can contribute to every charity appeal that comes our way. My wife and I made the decision several years ago to limit those to which we will give major support. We don't have a lot of money, but we donate a lot of time and talent instead.
I have a Kato Superliner B set on it's way (thanks Benny) these will be sitting under the Xmas tree on Christmas morning
Apart from having a great time with my family and friends, all I need model railroad-wise, is to have a bit of spare time to work on the layout
