Neither Flu nor packing for a move will stop me from getting this thread off....eventually. LaGrange Il. Forget the year.

Daryl- This YT was posted in another forum here, within this past week or so. Actually what we are looking for in this topic are submissions from your own personal photo or video efforts. You are in SW MT? Got anything of the UP over Monida and vicinity or other travels?

The dirt on her reminds me of the reddish brown, sort of rusty in appearance soil, I seem to vaguely recall from where I was once located in Louisiana.
As I recall, that was one of the most wonderful times in your younger days where you learned how to take orders, march in mud, live with all kinds of wonderful bugs and how to sweat properly.
Ummm. Recalling that time period is almost as much fun as hitting msyelf on the head with a hammer.... hboy:
Ride in “Varnish” This Saturday the Colorado Railroad Museum featured a completely historic 1880′s “Varnish” consist featuring Steam Locomotive No. 40, Rail Post Office No. 60, Passenger Coach Nos. 280 and 284 (with red velvet seats and pot bellied stoves), and RGS Business Car “Rico”. the private business car that the famous 19th C. photographer William Henry Jackson used when his was hired to photograph the Rio Grande Southern line.
Like Darren, I too was at the Colorado Railroad museum on Saturday, doing more volunteer stuff, just a few shots and a video from that day. Cab ride on board Colorado Central (Ex-georgetown loop) #40. I spent about an hour in the cab observing the firing operation to train for a fireman. The engine was equipped with the whistle from UP Big Boy #4012, still very loud after we limited its steam supply! The encouraging remarks and notes you hear during the ride are from the qualified fireman teaching another guy how to fire. The footage gets a bit blurry around 2 minute mark, I had no control over this, the camera was not a fan of the fire heat or the oil mist that was present in the air. Rolling past West No Agua, boy does it look cool! Looking down the train from my usual location in the RPO. Standing on top of 40's Oil Bunker sure gives you a nice view!
