Jeffrey Keep it up. Lobster boy- What exactly is a Silver Iris? Wolfgang- visually stunning, as usual. The points look completely weathered. How are you maintaining current?
< bemused grin > Hmmmmmmmmmmmm a lawer that doesn't read. That is what I like about you. The unexpected. Subject line: "Silver Iris" Private Car Home Page: The Silver Iris - Private Rail Car Experience...! To state the obvious: It is the name of a private passenger car that was sitting at South Station. Referring to the subtle: it is an iris made of sliver. Inferring from the question and the questioner: It is unimportant other as use for your foil.
Foto Fun 2008 05 18 I've been super busy with work (which will continue with some time), so I'll not be around here as much as in the past. I will still lurk and check when I can, though. And I am very much looking forward to being in Louisville for the National N Scale convention. Hope to see some of you there. Here's a couple of shots to add for this week. Have a good week, all.
4' x 4' layout? That may be the greatest 4' x 4' in existence; it's certainly one of my favorites. It always looks so large in the photos! Check that last photo.
Mockup of idea for a modern city over the yard: It would lift off for access to the yard The skyscrapers would be removable Will be about 3 to 4 inches over the yard Ideally it will include a passenger terminal Nope, not me, I had nothing to do with the derailment:
As far as photo fun lately, I have been poking around at the Library of Congress website under Farm Security Administration/Office of War Information Color Photographs and finding all kinds of cool old photos. I down load the TIFF images and then crop and clean them up. Here is the latest gem I found. A UP box car being loaded at a grain elevator in Coldwell, Idaho in July of 1941. You can see the wood grain door installed to keep the load from spilling out as it is being loaded.
Got in favorites, Thank you for the heads up. Way cool, and timely since I'm getting serious about aging my next Siwini railway another 20 years.
Out of character for a Tunnel Motor, is clean out-shopped #9238. Unit is just out of Sacramento getting some new traction motors.
That looks awesome Jerry, fantastic work as usual! Great work on the nose mounted lights and hand grabs and is that an antenna I see over there? (I love tunnel motors, but modeling the east mine are most often 2nd and 3rd hand leasors with heavy weathering!) my best, Jan
You guys are all awesome! Excellent work and even better photos! Skipgear, I had to look twice at the hospital to make sure it wasn't real!
I can't take credit for the lights and grabs, the model came stock with those.....but I DID add the antenna!
