I guess I will get this going. I thought I would drag out my "more modern" train. I usually model transition so this is a departure for me.
Thanks Jerry, That station is the Kato station, parts of it anyway. It was an eBay spiecial. $8.01+ s/h. It makes the scene better. As I get better,I'll make it right.:tb-wink:
"Silver Iris" Private Car Caught at South Station, Boston: The Silver Iris - Private Rail Car Experience...! A long way from home. A late afternoon grain train is passing the mist shrouded Grandure Peak as it makes for Points Unknown
Some more Horribly Oversized structures for me this weekend. First a Miller Engineering - City Scoop. It is the first photo etch building I have built. I was really impressed with the little details included. The creamy whip machines and work counter are part of the interior. The trash cans and picnic tables were included for exterior detail and the roof mount AC unit is one of the best I have seen. The first shot is before installing on the layout: Another close up showing the interior detail, including the decal for the menu board: And finally a shot of it installed on the layout:
Also some more lighting projects. This is a Cornerstone Bralick building that has been shortened by one floor and some other modifications. It will have full interior because the windows are too large not to. The first floor has a full reception area in the front and emergency waiting room in the rear. The second floor has a couple of ward rooms and some private rooms modeled. The third floor will be more rooms and possibly an opperating room or two. And finally the diner from a few weeks ago quickly installed on the layout. I want to redo the parking lot later and add signage.
Tony, Those structures look really good. I especially appreciate the City Scoop and the diner. The diner definitely displays the colors, textures and sharp edges needed for realism. Good work. Here are a few new shots:
This is my first attempt at a pond. It's only a couple of inches across, nestled in a corner on a bluff overlooking the tracks. Bullwinkle seems to like it, anyway.
I've finished a few turnouts at the fourth Diamond Valley segment. This turnout is at the scrap yard. You see more at my turnout sites. The target is movable, of course. For this turnout I've used the PROTO:87 throwbar. Wolfgang
Wolfgang: Actually, very good ground cover, too. Nice job. My picture is of a Herzog gondola awaiting assignment. Military load. I'd better tie these loads down? SSW boxcar needs some tweaking on the weathering. North of the border.
First attempt? Wow- looks mighty fine to me . One of my goals for this weekend is to dig a pond somewhere on my layout so that I can have a shot at my first attempt...
Nice work. But, why is Bullwinkle on all fours? I thought he walked on his hind legs like Rocky and Boris and Natasha.
