How Can You Not Love em? The Athearn bay window caboose is a beauty. I kind of hate to weather it, but I will!
Flash, The fire damage to the building is an inside joke. The building is the "ALCO Turbo Works." ALCO turbos were infamous for sending tremendous sheets of flame up on a backfire, so . . . The building was a kit that was supposed to be burned--Bachmann, perhaps? I never got around to installing a lighting kit that simulated the glow of an interior fire. In fact, I can't remember if the glowing lights were supplied with the kit.
Actually, the building is the "Alco Turbo Division." Here's a different image: I meant for a whole slew of 1955 fire trucks to be there, but never got around to it. It's toward the back of the layout, where I tend to forget things--like whole trains stashed on a siding for two years. The building is the main one in the diesel servicing yard. I have a slew of ALCOs, so it's appropriate.
While searching for the previous image, I ran into this one of my harbor. I think I've never posted it.

Just taking some photos on the layout today. First, the old 0-6-0 collecting dust as it rusts away beside the engine house. Second, 6319 is in for some light maintenance. Third, an old Pacer that has seen much better days but will probably never see the highway again.
well some really great wok this week. Too many to say I like just one when they are all really good. Good job to all.
Niiice, Bill...that works!! Love your fall image, too, John. Nice angle and of course the modelling is excellent.
