To kick off the Forth of July edition I took a new shot of the power on the 1947 Freedom Train. For all you Aussies, Kiwis, Europeans, Canadians and other folks, please bear with us (citizens of the USA) as we celebrate our holiday. You can still post anything you want.
Have a good one, my American friends! :tb-biggrin: I recently entered this image in a contest elsewhere, with the voting to be done later this month. We were required to incorporate animals in any way that seemed suitable. So, the following image is mine, with all its contents, but the image has been framed, a wall corner shadow removed in the "sky", and the image sharpened by a retired master photog by the name of Jarrell Conley living in Georgia. My thanks go out to him for his improvements. A stand-off between "horses".
Nice pictures there, RRfan. Good close up. Here is my Atlas U25B, SP6800. Completely pristine. I need to at least add a plow or something! 1947 Freedom Train? Really? Also, there must be photos of patriotic trains in other countries. That would be neat.
Some confusion may be to the fact that this loco rolled out in Aug. of 1947 and made the cross country tour beginning in Sept. 1947. It did not run on the 4th of July, 1947. Cheers, Jim CCRR

Unfortunately I have no Bicentennial trains. Went down to Castle Rock for some train watching and look at what we caught.
