In what is probably the worst picture I've taken and kept is this shot from 10/23/1993 at Cumberland, MD of WM F7 #236 and probably WM BL-2 #81 en route to the B&O Railroad Museum in Baltimore. My Kodachrome 64 was seriously outmatched by the deep overcast and drizzle. We were driving past the yard and happened to see these, so had to venture a picture.
This view hardly deserves to be described as a "worst". It's a good memory for you. It also has historic value.
I agree, way not worst. Much, much higher! Plus an interesting pairing of engines from a long-gone era. And surely some great memories for you.
This is the last train I shot in 2024 A wet year end to my 2024 railfanning adventures. - Auburn GA Dec 28, 2024
I think I read a recent story that the museum has secured a new site in Roanoke that will provide better space. I think this'll be their third home. The first was seriously flooded out in 1985, causing the move to the current downtown location.
Looking out the back door of a Superliner at a rain shower while crossing the Brazos River on the BNSF. The other bridge to the left belongs to NRG Power Company to bring coal trains into the W.A. Parish Generating Station in Thompsons, Texas. AMTRAK was detouring around the flood damaged UP bridge over the Brazos in Richmond, Texas. June 21, 2016.
An impressive station behind the train. Must have at one time held some offices for operations as well?
