Doing what they did best, SP ACeez assist in safe descent of a heavy coal load in heavy fog at Tunnel 6; just west of Plainview, CO:

These are getting rarer and rarer to catch un-molested...

    Another Cheyenne shot...
Faux flares or not, this is flat cool to see in 2005:

Is this rare? I have never seen one like it before:
    Speed-lettering on a SP boxcar?

Kinda, but I did see a number of them, along with the speedlettered auto racks and double stack cars.
MDC in the late 90's, made three boxcars with the speedlettering in "N" scale. I have all 3 types.
I would say the more rare "paint", is the boxcars that have the Sunset herald below the SP lettering, and the black Sunset herald on the gons. Both I wish they would make models of, in "N" scale of course! [IMG] :D [IMG]

High nose 3338 & low nose 3877 back down to couple up to there train at Mojave yard. They were in the yard waiting for a westman to take them west. Hearing and seeing these two 567's go up the hill toward Tehachapi, was awesome! 3877 was smokin like a AC-8!!
