Actually I was thinking of décor drifting toward "man cave" status. Accessories to add, so no trip into the house is ever necessary.
But that would include a bathroom again...dont want it smelling like I'm hauling a livestock train out there.....ppeeeeewwww !...LOL
LOL...thats why I took EVERYTHING out of the RV. Didnt want to give her any ideas ! Bad enough if I have to sleep on the couch. At least it has some creature comforts inside the house
I have come to a serious conclusion ! For those building a layout and laying track...DONT lay all the track !!! Leave a section out ! Otherwise...you will be running trains and scenery will be a distant thought buried somewhere in your brain !!! I need to get some more work done on the layout...the list is getting to be pages long !!!!! :uhoh::closedmouth:
You caught on to what I have been doing. I just laid my last 15 inches of track. Still haven't hooked up any wires or power pack and have just one loco and a boxcar using a 9 volt battery to check track and clearances. On hold now until I install grade crossings and wish I had done them much earlier.
Tell your self you would like to see those same trains running through a beautiful country side. It may help. Mike
Well, at least you have been running some trains. I have seen layouts which seem to perpetually be under construction and no trains ever run.
OK...Nobody be Skeered.... BUT... THE Wife gave me an old fake flickering candle she said didnt work. She thought maybe I could fix it and use it on the layout somewhere. I proceeed to tear the guts out at 1:00 AM. My nightime meds hadnt kicked in yet so I couldnt get to sleep. It seemed to work ok. After getting it all apart... I removed the batteries and was getting ready to set it aside till morning. I musta hit the flicker control swith with the palm of my hand. I swear the light flickered ! I set it back down. Let me repeat... IT HAD THE BATTERIES OUT OF IT !! I pushed the flicker button and the led lit and flickered. I know I dont have to repeat this...but...IT HAD THE BATTERIES OUT OF IT !! The on/off switch has no effect on operations at all ! You can see in the pic below...no batteries and its still working :-/ Maybe the meds have really kicked in this time...LOL OK...Cue the Twilight Zone Intro..... George, it must be your electrifying personality while touching the flicker switch. Or else your brain is radiating more than we want to know. What is that glow emanating from T.H.E.R.V......do-de-do-de-do.
R O F L M A O !!! :teeth: http://www.lessonsoffailure.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/mad-scientist21.jpg
Wouldnt a stay alive capacitor drop to zero after even a short period of time ? I've been pushing the button on this thing quite a lot over the whole day now. Still flickers and shows no signs of quiting. Hmmmmm
I was thinking maybe a button battery in the flicker control switch. But then why would it need 3 AAA batteries....or if it has 3 AAA's why would it need a button battery somewere else. And would small button batteries have enough juice to power up the LED...especially for extended periods of time ? Just plain wierd...and kinda freaky :teeth:
If it keeps on flickering, sans batteries, patent it quickly. You have invented the no power needed lighting source. You will be so rich, Bill gates would seem like a pauper.
Hmm thought crossed my mind on solar cell but the ones that I messed with needed the rechargeable batteries to be installed as part of the circuit and the power source. The solar cell alone did not power the light, so dismiss that thought. Back to Area 51 again. You have little green or gray men, weird flying machines, secret government installations hidden all over. Maybe a photon ray guidance system directed over your RV and they are using it for simulated bombing practice. Haven't been any all black vehicles with heavy tinted glass parked near your abode have there?
