Oh yeah. Mine's on my layout too. If anybody asks, I'll just say it's a big, small town church.

    ;)

    Cutting in an Isolation Gap

If you need to have four separate blocks leading away from the double crossover switch. I did and here's what I learned. I could cut in isolation gaps in the two outside rails, in the middle between the two switches. If you take a look at the inside rail it already has an isolation gap. Works great.

First, before you cut in the isolation gap, a little preparation. Run a bead of cyanoacrylate on both sides of the rail and allow to set up on it's own. Not to much, a real light bead of Zap A Gap. After it's dried and set up, then take a dremel tool with a fine cutting disc and cut in your isolation gap. Done. Unless you want to add a drop of glue into the opening to keep the rails from sliding toward each other and coming in contact. Smoothest thing..... I've seen or done. Never had a problem with the whole of the switch mechanism.

For more ideas for the rest of the layout also see: http://www.barstowrick.com/category/structurally-sound-rail-joints/

I know shameless plug. Who knows you might like it.

No Problem Mike...You are a busy man with the bussiness and everything else that has your plate full...understandable.

I never felt slighted because ya werent here. Glad to have ya here now though :)

Mine is a 29 footer. Bought it used for 2500.00. It had been put in storage for 5 years ! A few tires, a battery, and 10 gallons of gas...fired it up and drove it home. The rest is history as they say :)

THE Wife got a new laptop...so I 'inherited' her old one !!!

Gonna put JMRI on it and a few other programs. No more running back an forth from THE RV to the desk in here to program trains...wooooooooootttttttttttt !!!

I also checked and the laptop connects to the internet just fine from out there :) No more running back and forth to check TB posts either.

Great to hear. Though there may be an unintended downside, the loss of essential exercise from "running back and forth".;)
