Seeing it from this perspective, the actual run length around this layout is quite a bit more than I had envisioned. Nice!
Mtntrainman, For that snoozing photo, you win the award for “most fun per N-scale foot on Trainboard”. Amazing! - Tonkphilip Needless to say I was **BUSTED* on camera
That looks like me working on my layout. Well, George you are the epitome of a real train operator. I can tell you are busy at it in the yard classifying train cars for the next train out. Then there's the engines that need to be serviced and moved to the head of the train. OOp's almost forgot. Look out for Jean's passenger train. Never know what kind of party is going on inside that train. Personally I'd be looking for the buffet. The endless hungries. You better get back to that nap. I just finished mine. Old fart's that we are.
Ahh, but good friends extend the courtesy, even if it is merely calling out, "Knock, knock," while opening the door. Kinda like a "Hello to camp!" announcement.
WOWSERS !!! I was just sitting here thinking about THERR RV. I started this thing in 2012. 14 years ago !! Then I got thinking how much I have invested. All total including THE RV, the layout wood and cabinets, the buildings and track and trains, electronics etc, etc I have about $7500.00 in it. I am not counting labor as how do you put a price on LOVE??/ With that in mind...doing the math I come up that I have spent about $1.47 a day to have all this fun for all these years !! Like I said...WOWSERS !!!!
Really good use of money, and not that much at all for the time frame! Especially since you have your own (mobile) room for your trains
Well, your math is a little off; 2012 was 12 years ago (Wait, it is still 2024, right...?) You and your RV are an inspiration for us all: What can't be done with a model railroad?! Maybe someone will someday be inspired by your accomplishment, and build a layout in a semi-trailer! The team trailer on display at the NASCAR Hall of Fame would have NOTHING on that! (even though it is really cool!)
Oppppppppssss yea your right. That makes it 1.71 per day. NOW it's getting expensive !! I did not factor in that it was 2AM when I was doing the math...
Dang, no coffee... well, I never acquired that taste. I absolutely love the smell of coffee brewing in the morning (grew up with it), but it just doesn't taste anywhere nearly as good as it smells! I have an iced tea (unsweetened,) with a Diet Coke chaser, for my morning pick-me-up. Some days, I just throw caution to the wind, and reverse the order!
No coffee for me either, tried it and never liked it. So I just got used to water, whole milk and Coke. Okay a little bit of top Shelf Vodka tonics with a double lime squeeze or top shelf Bourbon. FYI Pappy Van Winkle is not worth the cost. Go for an Angels Envy or Jefferson Ocean instead. Smoother at no where near the cost!
I used to drink coffee and loved it but it started giving me a bad bellyache about 15-20 years ago. Giving up coffee got rid of the bellyache so I switched to tea in the morning.
