OK...THE WASH RACK siding is done.

Road realignment is done. THE Wife's Excursion Trains run thru the siding OK. They may not look graceful doing it...but it works.
Yard limit is 25 mph. Wash rack siding is 3 mph. :coffee::coffee:

That's awesome originality and work George. As you stated above that's what model railroading is all about.

    Great job !

Very well done George! Now how are you going to dirty your cars so they can be washed?
Inquiring minds need to know! :)

Now, George, if you made the wash rack spin, and put a bit of air to a nozzle system, then weathered your power with dust.....then it would function prototypically!

Surely someone here is going to think that is a good idea, and who knows where that would go??!!

Seriously, that does look good! Kind of like the ones at Barstow for the SF,

Someone might try that, and then find their locomotive no longer runs as smoothly as it did beforehand.

    Yup.......;)
At some point the detailing would get lost in the works. Leaving some to the imagination is best sometimes...JS;)

    Thanxs Alan....(y)(y)

It was brand new from Bachmann. It did ONE lap on my old HCD layout. There where so many sparks up front it looked like an arc welder was working on something !!!!

Years ago, I had a couple of these engines. (They make great paperweights!) One of which did as you describe. After fiddling with the pilot truck, which did not help the situation, the motor expressed a dislike of running and went up in smoke. The second one ran in a loping, jerky fashion. And that was also resolved when the motor went up in smoke. I got five bucks each selling them as parts, to people who wanted the tenders.
