Great work, Jerry! When things get settled, I'm going to start on similar project--for the PRR, of course. Very nice details.

Today I added more piping under the boiler walkway on the firemans side. Also added a line to the whistle and a couple eye bolts for the bell line.

Second one on boiler. Going to run a fine line through these like I did on the Sierra 2-6-2.

Painted some of the valves in the cab red, the throttle chrome, some brass on the sight glass and brake valve, and white on the gauges. Crew needs to have a safe place to operate from. :)

And with headlight reattached. The color was a mix of silver, graphite, black and grey till it looked 'right'. (Thanks to the tips given here!:))

    Last for tonight...
Got the bell line installed. :) Kimberly works at the hospital and brings me all sorts of goodies and this line is one of them. It is a very small flexible nylon line used in surgery to sew people up. Works great for ringing a bell too!

Working on this model has reminded me of how really remarkable the steam locomotive is. Blueprints drawn by hand. Parts machined and custom made. Two men operating as one to keep her operating. Amazing machines in every sense. :)

Today I am cooking some goodies in preperation of the big game, but did have time to add window maker to the marker lights. This makes it look more like a lense in there instead of just painted plastic.

Another quick addition was painting some check valves and handles red.

That is a first-rate steamer! You really made it seem "kinda" simple too. You should be a proud papa. Congratulations.

Looking great. What are you going to do for the tender? Will this be an oil or coal burner?
