TV 610 did an outstanding job of providing many smile this day. The TVRM has a great thing here, and if you get a chance to get down this way, I would recommend a stop. My hats off again to the locomotive crew.....it was a GREAT performance!
Jerry, thanks for that great coverage of a great trip. Looks like the 610 has a couple of "manual" coal pushers in the tender. :teeth:
Great shots Jerry, you covered her from all angles. Looking at your photos, and my photos of 610 from 2004, I cannot find a bell on her. Where's the bloomin' bell?? Did you see or hear one? :confused2:
Jerry, that is a FANTASTIC Photo Essay! This is one of those times I wish I still lived back up in HuntsPatch.... BTW, did you introduce yourself to the headend crew like Al Krug did with the crew of SP&S 700 a few years back? I believe you would have had a blast firing and/or controlling a steamer...! Of course Kimberly might not have been all that thrilled chasing 610 AND you all by herself....:embarassed: :teeth:
By the time we got into the TVRM parking lot, the crew was getting ready to bring the engine back to the other end of their line. I would have liked to have gotten a crew shot in the cab or in front of the engine. If I thought I could get regular weekends off, I would really consider joining the crew and turning some wrenches on 610. I won't rule it out.
We'll, she wouldn't have been all alone. Amber did join us for the chase. And you can see....they were both having a good time.
