I knew that question would come sooner or later Well I got the trucks and hand rails painted, put on the UDE and nose headlight. Still up in the air with that 3 chime horn. Don't know if I'll do anymore after the horn. Im gonna leave the Rapidos on it to keep the old N scale look. With the little I have done so far, im happy with how it looks.
Wow Jerry, that's an excellent model. Hope mine turns out that well when I get around to repainting and detailing it. Simon
Looks great so far! It is amazing how adding the nose and top light improves the look of these models!
Well I think I am about done with this model! Air hoses are in place, and next will be some weathering. I have had ALOT of fun with this model!
I have been testing the track work mainly. Running over and over and over to make sure it is all in good shape. Since about 70% is going to be hidden, it has to be close to perfect. I actually am happy with the way it is now, and I should start dropping wires and getting that done, and then start some scenery.
Does anyone here have experience stripping these? I just recieved one (Kato made) in GN paint omg, and it's due for some SP paint. Will 91% alcohol harm the shell?
I'm not sure on that....I was lucky that the one I got was already Grey and Red. The old lettering came off easily.
The answer, luckily, is no. Though I'm not sure if it's because the plastic is durable, or because it only took 3 minutes of soaking to get the CC paint off
