Not a great shot here but it was my first chance to see the 4610 even though it was far off through a fence. This shot was taken in Duluth GA at the Southeastern Railway Museum in Nov 2008
Has it been retired? Are all NS GP60s (edit - correction...This engine is a GP59.) retired or on the way out? Good picture through the fence!
Why was it there, anyway? Must be some event. As far as I know, NS and the other Class 1s haven't started retiring their GP60s. (I think that's a GP59, by the way.)
GP59 is correct. This shot was taken the Wed before Thanksgiving so I can only guess that there was some event at the museum that weekend. The engine seems to stay near Atlanta most of the time so I guess it wasn't hard to get it up there for an event.
