That's funny you say that, cause RailPictures.net would not accept that one due to the "high" light. Sometimes people need to see past the details and just look at the photo. :tb-wink:
Eddie, Welcome to Trainboard!!!! I recognize some of those as the Tehachapi line--my favorite is the first one. I could swear I had seen it on RP.net.
I heard that. RP screeners are very picky. They dodged this onefor bogus reasons, like it didn't have a train in it... It doesn't just happen to have two historic railroad depots in it!
Let me guess, that one went under "poor ethnics" or stuff they don't want to show right? Yeah sometimes they are weird like that... but not if you submit a photo of something euro.. then it can be the crappiest photo on earth. I think it looks good.
You hit the nail right on the head; "Poor/low esthetic qualities". Bogus. I appologize in advance if I already osted this, but it's the first Retro-Belle I had ever seen. It was just west of Shelby, MT on the Hi-Line:
I love the colors in those shots though I can see where some wouldn't. I've not had a lot of luck getting good shots on Tehachapi. Though, the last time I went "jan 2007" was pretty good.
Hemi, From what I have found on the web this engine started out as a GP9 for Great Northern Railway as number 687 in 1956. It is currently being shown as a GP28M for BNSF. As for the shove I was referring to BNSF 1513 being ready to do some switching operations at the Conoco fuel tank farm west of town. I believe that the second engine in the picture is a SD60M followed by the BNSF (ex-Frisco) caboose platform. Ben
