Allan, Welcome aboard! I know, it's a face only a mother could love... But they sure look sharp when factory-fresh:
I wouldn't mind them if they had the older nose, but up front and in person, they look a lot better. Better then a sea of pumpkin colored GEs. I swear, if I never see another GE locomotive (widecab) it will be too soon.
The SD70M is a much better looking unit. Interesting comment about the GE's though. If you look at the new SD70ACE, in comparison to the SD70M, it looks more and more like a GE with each new stage. The radiators at the rear and the hump on the hood behind the cab all look like what GE has been doing for years. I guess if you do it right the first time everyone wants to copy you.
Interesting locos but II suspect the little blue flags will have high bug count quickly as well as creating excessive wind drag. IMO: None of the current crop looks as good as a DL600b or a SD-24.
