Truly a great loss to the model railroad community and this board in particular. My heartfelt thoughts go out to his friends and family.
I am so sorry to hear this. Bob had written me a few times and helped me out with some things I needed. We never met, but he was, for sure, one of the people who make things fun. A really great guy.
Sorry to hear the news, I always looked forward to reading his posts, despite never meeting the man, he taught and showed me a lot. My condolances to his family. nodima

My thoughts and prayers are with Bob's family now.I never got to meet him personally but his knowledge and the answers to questions here on Trainboard will truely be missed. He was definately a true gentleman when it came to helping people out.
As I mentioned on the Aboard, I never met Bob, but he was the kind of guy could you could easily call a friend. When I heard of his passing I felt a genuine feeling of loss. I am happy he is with our Lord. God bless his soul and ease the grieving of his loving family

Our friend Bob is now suffering no more pain, though we will all miss his smiling face, great photos and posts. Our condolences to his family.
Rest In Peace, Long Train. You will be always be remembered for your generosity and thoughtfulness - a true gentleman. You know that you probably sparked intrest in N-Scale in more than a few who visited your layout and saw your trains in action. Such is a part of the legacy which you leave us. Peace and God's Grace be with the family of Mr. Bob Woods during these times. Bill S. Baltimore
I was fortunate enough to meet LT last year. I had posted that work was taking me to Phoenix for a couple of days and, he invited me out to run trains and take pictures at the Sun 'N' Sand. It was like we'd known each other for years, not mere minutes. I think we ran trains and talked for well over 6 hours that evening and, poor LT left the park at 12 AM with work the next day. I had two more trips out there fall through and each one he had prepared to get me some time running trains. His posts were sorely missed here but, were always great fun to read (and informative) at trainboard. I'll be sure to swing by the club and "Pay my respects" next time I'm town. We've lost a good one.
It is really amazing the number of folks Bob touched without ever meeting them in person. The Internet can be such a positive medium. I, like so many others, never had the pleasure of meeting him face to face but feel I knew him from our interactions on line. My condolences go out to his family and friends.
I was shocked when I read that Bob was Long Train. Its sad to see another Trainboard member leave us.
I'm glad I got to meet Bob once, he was a very gracious man. I will miss his postings and his helpful ways. A sad day in the hobby and in our community. Thanks, Bob. Rest in peace.
