I've been stringing a lot of lineside poles recently. Finally, it was time to span them over my simulation of the Wolf River at a place called Gills Landing. Doing so would require me to build a few representations of the towers (poles?) that carry them. Here is a bad picture of a picture of the bridge there. Note the towers to the left:

Here is what I came up with after I strung a couple lines on them to get the effect.

I have been so used to looking at the scene without lines that at first these lines seemed offensive, but now I know they were always part of the scene. I just needed to include them.

Actually they do a nice job of bringing something more into the scene.

Nice work, looks like you got the " drape" justt right , did you use to be a line man ? Are you going to add the nest as well to one of the towers? Out here by the lake / river, sometimes the power companie/s put up new poles and leave the old ones with a flat on top for the Osprey's to build their nest on , keeps 'em off the lines and the tourists get to oh and ah at them when the chicks are being fed , well ... so does my wife :)

So glad I got into N scale so I can build an N Scale osprey nest. (Checking my sanity at the door as I go to sit at the work bench...) Ah well, if one can superdetail rolling stock, place 1" stripe decals on N scale passenger cars, and put indiviual number decals on locomotive number boards, what trouble will it be to make an N scale osprey nest for crying out loud eh?

    :droll:

    I'll update y'all Monday...

    +1 !
I just love the long low bridge. and the power poles finish the scene!

    Nice touch with the nest!

Wow, the lines really make the scene more natural. I like the nest too!

Added this dock to one of the cabins (as per prototype). It features a long walkway.

What Boxcab said ...yea me 2. If ya add a single bulb lite during the summer months, on at nite , down by the water , it will draw the bugs and the bugs hitting the water will attract the fish .... I speak from experience of fishing from docks at night with bugs hitting the water , maybe with a guy fishing with the rod bent almost in two .... cooler of beer (and/or a coleman lantern instead of the lite bulb) , bucket of KFC .... and a stringer of fish .. :teeth:, almost nothing gets better than that eh? Not even a good day at work... Your pike is looking great !
