The Siwini R.R. is an HO scale Logging / Lumber operation. It connects with the WP. We currently use an SW9 and a GP7 but will switch to a Shay and the SW if it ever gets out of the shop. Then we can return the GP back to WP and save some money on the lease. A couple of log trains a day, and three to six trains a week to the interchange. (log trains 6 cars , freight trains 6 to 10 cars.

    **********From the AP Newswire**********
The Ty Bry Railroad Development Co. is pleased to announce the new name of their currently under construction shortline. The new name for the railroad will be the Evergreen and Sooner Railroad. While the Board of Directors for Ty Bry would never admit this publicly, it is rumored that the name comes from the town of Evergreen, Colorado where the company wished it was located and the Oklahoma Sooners (National Champs Baby!!!) whom the Company has supported since before conception. Publicly the Board has said they draw their name from the fact that the company will be Evergreen or everlasting and green as in profitable and will deliver 'Sooner' than its competitors. The Board has yet to finalize on the line's color scheme, but it is sure to involve the crimson color of the OU Sooners and a shade of forest green.

The Ty Bry Railroad Development Co. also anounced that the Railroad Logo will be the letters "ES" and look much like the Canadian National "CN" Noodle. Other details have yet to be worked out. Stay Tuned for further details.
    **********End 1-8-01**********

Other details about the Evergreen and Sooner Ry.

HO in a modified 4x8 layout. I found the track plan in the Basic Model Railroading: Getting Started in the Hobby book. It was shown in an article by Andy Sperandeo about Operations. I'll get it scanned and show it one of these days. I liked it because it wasn't a simple loop with a couple of sidings on a typical 4x8.

There will be a Trackage rights agreement put together with Canadian National to provide enhanced interchange capabilities for the customers.

The Setting is generally modeled around the Cedar Rapids, Iowa area (because that's where I live and I like what rail activity and industries I see here). We will have a heavy concentration on grain hauling, grain and corn syrup processing, a little coal activity, some through traffic, and some other various shortline stuff.

The Ty Bry Railroad Development Co. are generally cheap *******s. However on occasion, they have been known to give in to their impulses. Therefore, don't be surprised to see a SW7 or a F7a doing some mainline work next to a SD70 or something like that. The management does have a liking for some of those big road engines. And in their preparations to turn their currently planned shortline into a full national rail system, they will make a variety of strategic purchases of large equipment.

Because I also like a little steam action, a wealthy local with a love for railroads has purchased and restored a USRA Light Mikdao 2-8-2. The Evergreen and Sooner will operate the passenger line for him and provide daily passenger service from Cedar Rapids to Iowa City and then offer special weekend outings to tour the Mississippi Valley.

Because one partner of Ty Bry Railroad Development Co. is still only 2 years old, the Evergreen and Sooner will acquire the Sodor Island Train Line and bring Thomas the Tank engine and friends to town.

Everything else is up for grabs, because I want it that way.

Construction pictures will be coming soon.

    Bry,
Sounds great!! Of course incorporating a Colorado name into Iowa can only help the railroad [IMG] [IMG]!! As for Thomas joining you, I think that is great. My 4-year-old has not yet seen the N scale version, but I'm sure when he does Thomas may make an appearance on the SFSW as well [IMG]!! Good luck, looking forward to the pics, and Happy Modeling!!

The Oklahoma and North Eastern Railroad (the Chat Pile Line) is set in the mid-to-late 1970s, and runs from Miami, OK to Baxter Springs, KS, and east to Joplin, MO. The Miami-Baxter line follows the route of the former Northeastern Oklahoma, and its premise is that the line was sold by the St. Louis-San Francisco to a rail consortium in the three counties the line runs. O&NE power is mostly Alco, purchased secondhand from Class 1s. Firsco is the main interchange partner, with casr swapped with missouri Pacific and Kansas City Southern in Joplin.
No stack trains or articulated tri-level auto racks here- 50-foot boxcars, covered hoppers, tank cars and cabooses. As a matter of fact, since it's the Bicentennial, a caboose in red, white & blue is about to come out of the shops.
We serve a tire plant, power plant, some lumber companies, a furniture company, a plastics plant, and a new place that builds fiberglass boats (inbound raw materials, the boats go out by truck).

Why don't you ship the boats out by rail? I have seen several flat cars with 30 and 40' cabin crusiers on them up here in Wisconsin.

N-scale. Sandy River & West Forrest Railroad is a fictitious layout founded in the 80´s. The head office is located in Sandy River VA.
In the area there are two mines, one iron mine, and one copper mine both of them located on the southern slop of the Appalachians.
I will soon release a company description with a history of the railroad, a railmap that show the own trackage, and the lines
with trackage rights from Sandy River to Cincinnati via Knoxville TN.
One amazing coincident is that when I recently tried to find the railroads "real" location in the US, I found that location names on the layout (given already in the 80´s) exist in the real world at the right places, like Sandy river, Iron Hill (Springs), and West End outside Staunton VA.
As Catt mentioned earlier, SR&WF is now member in the Nort American Rail Alliance (NARA) together with GVR, MAT, CEE, and INRR.

Hmmmmmm.........I'll have to talk to the plant's owner about that. Quite a few of his boats go to Grand Lake of the Cherokees, 25 miles away and inaccessible by rail (in real life). I may convince the ol' boy to send one or two out by rail.

Asheville & Spartanburg here, circa 1968. The SR is a thriving, independent railroad that became passenger friendly when two things happened: 1) A much hassled grunt went postal on Brosnan. 2) Claytor was replaced by in a coup de tat by passenger advocate saludamtn. The A&S runs available SOU power in n scale (with a smattering of foreign and sometimes modern power.) Main business is getting trains over the road without hindering the Carolina Special, a reefer job and express train 227/228.
The A&S wraps itself around the walls of a 12x12 bedroom. A single track main features loops at Hayne and Asheville yards and pass tracks at Saluda and Inman. The Melrose complex is included. The layout is under contstruction and is at a point where track laying is nearly complete.

OK, so that didn't work [IMG] So, how do you post such things like E-passes and renditions of your railroad's paint scheme to
    Trainboard?
