    Hi Shore!
Sorry I've been missing these posts!
I like the New Haven in New York City.
    I'm also a Susie Q fan.
The Danbury RR Museum is New Haven Heaven!!!!!!!!!!
You have to visit it! A super display!
And if you can arrange a meet with Peirce, you will meet a super person and wonderful host!

Russ and I plan to get there again as soon as the weather warms up! And we also plan to visit a truck museum not too far away from the museum.

Let us know when you might venture there and maybe we can have a meet if possible.

Hi Johnny...happy to meet another NH fan. Saw your pic along with Peirce and Russ at the museum.
That would be really great to all get together for a visit at Danbury. I've been talking with my dad, and trying to coordinate our schedules, vacation times etc to see if we could travel down together. Also thought about Amtrak...take the LSL out of Depew, then get a rental car etc, and make a real railfan trip out of it. We've been going crazy at work, another 14 hour day yesterday. I hope it ends soon! They are now talking about shutting down for 2 full weeks in June or July so that might be the "forced" vacation time. We'll see.

I'm really looking forward to meeting you guys, and visiting the "New Haven Heaven" in Danbury.
    Bill

Bill, we are looking at April 6th for our first visit this year to the Danbury RR museum.

Can you possibly join us, or we can set a date later on to return again!

Can you make that the 13th or later? I will still be on my way back from vacation--by train, of course. The 13th or later would be better.

Ok guys! It's no problem to make it later!

Peirce, is the 13th too close to your return?

We can make it any Sunday after that, aside from Easter Sunday.
Opps, I will be away from Wed. May 7th until Mon. the 12th.

I would like to have you take first pick at a Sunday since you are our Museum Leader!

The 13th should be good. I will have to check on Monday to make sure someone can cover for me that day, at work, then I can confirm. The next possibility would be April 27, the week after Easter.

I checked out that site JT. I never knew that there was so much stuff available for NH in N-scale!

Russ, I'll bet the yard in Danbury once looked like that! [IMG]

Well, sort of, JT. If you want a better idea of how the Danbury yard looked in the 1950s, check out the N-scale model at the DRM. When finished it will be a well detailed depiction of the yard as it looked then. It will even include my uncle's hat factory.

By-the-way, did you see my Long Island RR picture from the 1964-65 NY World's Fair? It is in the Photography forum as a sample of what my new scanner can do.

OK, troops, I just received confirmation that someone will cover for me on April 13th, at work. This will make me available to meet you at the DRM. The museum opens at 12:00 on Sundays, but if you want to meet earlier I can get access to the yard.

I will check the hours for the Truck Museum so we can plan our day.

Peirce, we are going to leave NYC about 9am, so baring traffic and a coffee/pit stop we should be there in an hour or so.

So about 10am would be good for you?

    This is great!

Sounds like a plan. Meet in the parking lot. The building won't be open until noon, but there is plenty to see in the yard.

So it is April 13 at 10:00 a.m.

Any others of the Trainboard family who want to join us at that time--you are invited.

Sorry I won't have a chance to meet you on this occasion. Set aside May 4 as another possible chance. That is the date of the DRM's annual Railfair. If I can get there for that it wil be late in the day.
