In April of 2010, the BNSF was doing a lot of maintenance on the Raton Pass line. Here an MOW equipment train waits in Trinidad, Colorado to follow the Southwest Chief over the pass into New Mexico.

Back in the late 80's, SP leased this hi-rail excavator. First shot at the Tehachapi Loop, then at work at Woodford.
From 04/12/1988, big hook N&W 514925 at Bluefield, WV. I don't quite understand it all, but this crane was later donated to the Virginia Museum of Transportation where it sat until the museum decided to sell it for scrap to earn money to instead buy a former Virginian crane from a scrapper. The 514925 has since been cut up.
