Thats only 8.33 per car. Not bad considering what prices I see for NEW boxcars these days.....hmmmmmmm.
Yeah, and although "custom painted" and "custom weathered" would probably mean different things to a model railroader, one can see where "just some guy" wouldn't get that there's a difference. In any case, just looking at the supplied pictures would clear that all up. Frankly, a lot of this seems like so much tedious nit-picking to me. -Mark
Same image with two other listings http://www.ebay.com/itm/Atlas-N-Sca...543417?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item58a2ecb339 http://www.ebay.com/itm/KATO-N-USRA...528547?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item58a2ec7923
I contacted this guy and told him that you might want to look at your pictures and make some changes cause they don't match the descriptions. The reply I got back was "Thanks for the note, but I see nothing wrong on my end" Oh well...
To bad its not a "Buy Now" @ 85.00. Tell him I want whats pictured !!! Googled those binoculars....$1200.00 !!! http://www.ebay.com/ctg/Canon-15x50-Binocular-/66772885 $85.00 would be a steal !!!
I wonder if e-bay will make him deliver the binoculars to the winners since he did it on 3 listings. Kinda hope they do. I do not sell much on e-bay, but I always checked everything.
I like the write-up for this one (http://www.ebay.com/itm/N-Scale-CB-...1928?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item27d5a59048): N Scale CB&Q 39305 Burlington Route Car with Operating Door by Micro Trains Line. Lovely! Has been in the box since the infancy and rarely allowed out to play for a few moments. Comes in the original box. Color Red. Purchased many years ago and has been carefully stored all this time. Prices have skyrocketed since then. This item would be difficult to find in today's market. Looking for a new owner. Car is in fantastic condition. Simply beautiful! Please look for other matching listings, if you are interested. Keep in mind that this release is from 2004. They are basically telling me, they let the factory air out, played with it, and that it would be hard to find another like it, all for $30. This might be true . . . except that a quick search shows three other identical models currently available, any one of which is priced less that this one. Makes me wonder what my 1974 CB&Q boxcars are worth in their world. One more reason to find out the market before you set a price. Andy Tetsu Uma UPDATE: Just checked the seller. This one again.
I'm wondering whether the "prices have skyrocketed" comment refers to the general way that MSRPs have gone up in N Scale. I'd certainly submit that $20 is the new $10, which was the old $5. The CB&Q boxcar in particular: not so much.
That is a different way of marketing. A cheery attitude, with a slight touch of humor. I've still doubts it will sell for that price. But....
MSRP on that MT CB&Q boxcar in 2004 was $18.55. MSRP for MT boxcar for Aug 2013 release (one having more detail and a different color door) is $20.85. Not too bad of a price increase for nine years later and a more detailed car. As for the $30 they are asking, I don't believe that car ever went for that much at auction when the MT "aftermarket" was crazy. "Difficult to find in todays market" is the new "Rare" and we all know how we feel when we see that on an auction. I checked and this seller made the eBay follies a little while back . . . selling (or rather trying to sell) the same items.
Difficult to find is relative of course. All N Scale is rare compared to, say, water molecules or grains of salt. (The latter of which are always handy when reading auction listings.)
