The description pretty much tells the tail here:

"This is used and vintage stuff - mixed up group - some is gonna need attention and refurbishment and other parts will be ready to roll - I am leaning on YOUR expertise here!! - plenty of track and pieces and parts and things like that - this appears to be 60s and 70s era mostly and I do not have a transformer for N-scale trains to test these units. They have been stored for a LONG time in a tupperware - some of the boxes or containers here may not match the stuff here - YOU know that better than I do - I tried to get plenty of pics so you can see what you're getting here - please lean on the photos and also my exhaustive description below for details on condition :)"

3 old Rapido and MRC engines, 5 old passenger cars, 1 boxcar and 4 other broken pieces of rolling stock, some snap track and a few books and misc...only $160 Buy It Now.

Cars look like the old Arnold shorty cars. The ones known to suffer from warpage. In fact one car is humpbacked and another shows the end warped out.

Yeah, I have a number of those "bananas" in my collection. For some reason they are all the Arnold RPO cars.

Not knocking the person at all, just amazed at the prices they are asking. At the same time, someone must occasionally buy some.

Condition is listed as 'New', listing says that they are 'Very Nice'...oh, and the couplers are not MT but they are MTish.

There is a dealer here in the Seattle are that has a first generation Life Like GP 18 in their display case for $79.95. I think it originally retailed for $24.95? Well anyways, I asked why this loco was so much? They told me that is what a NEW LL GP 18 goes for these days.

I know one sucker that won't pay that much for it. And the sad thing is, someone will probablly buy it one day, eventually.

I understood your point was about price. I don't disagree. :)

Caveat emptor, buyer beware and all that. I just feel sorry for the poor unsuspecting schmucks that get taken. Hopefully they learn from this. Years ago, there was someone buying up hordes of Z scale merchandise on ebay, outbidding everyone. It got to where folks were listing junk at high prices just to see if he would take it. He did. Him, I did not feel sorry for.
