New sales tactic, we stop using "NEW", "RARE" and so forth. Now we sell things as being for the discriminating collector. I'm so confident of my profits, I am going to contact Warren Buffett about buying BNSF from him.
Darn. I sold mine a while back for $3.00. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Atlas-Locom...572955?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item3ccf93451b
And Atlas made this when and what scale, it seems pretty accurate for what it is - Junk! but I think it has been priced on the value of Gold.
I have a complete set of those gas station give-away trains. They sit on the window sill behind my computer. They are sort of HO scale but are push toy quality. Atlas had nothing to do with them.
I am pretty sure these are not even out yet, but this seller has two!! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kato-176212...319189?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item257b978b95
The price caught my eye. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Atlas-N-Sca...651590?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item43abe3f2c6
This has "caveat emptor" written all over it... http://www.ebay.com/itm/MINNESOTA-S...716&pid=100005&prg=1088&rk=3&sd=140924689620& Note how the photo is cropped such that the couplers can't be seen. Any guesses as to what kind they are?!?
what I like about the listing is that he specifically states he won't throw in the little man he has pictured sitting on top of the bridge. If he did that, I would think about spending the $450 to buy it. http://i.ebayimg.com/t/N-Scale-40-D...A==/$(KGrHqZ,!hQFC5-7fgQgBQ6,8-k8q!~~60_3.JPG
Still, not sure it really fits 'eBay Humor'. That's only a few bucks more that what I Pre-ordered mine for. I expect we'll start seeing listings of these for much more soon targeted at the uninformed or those who will have missed the order window.
I think I got two of these for $10 each awhile back. Shipping is a deal also. http://www.ebay.com/itm/LIFE-LIKE-B...ys_Hobbies_Model_Railways&hash=item3f21ffc9f1
Actually Russ,those are Atlas. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ATLAS-SHELL...962889?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item1e7354e709
The track that you could order to go with them may have been Atlas but the locomotive and cars were not. They are really cheap die cast pieces of junk that have "Fletcher-Barnhart & White" molded into the bottoms. The locomotive has no motor and side rods and valve gear are all solid molded into the sides. The wheels are inboard of the molded on piece and do turn if you want to push it along by hand.
OK, sooo..... I stumbled on this one. This isn't your ordinary screwed-up illogical listing. This is an illogical (to me) COMPLETED SALE. $1700 for an MT hopper car? Seriously? Is this like a bigfoot or UFO sighting? Shill bidding? http://www.ebay.com/itm/MTL-S-Micro...509388?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item1e772dcdcc I don't see a bidding war, either, like somebody meant $17.00. Or does the (78) mean there were 78 identical cars ($21.50 each)??? Wow, what a confusing listing. Joint Line N scale, even for their custom stuff, taps out at around $350/car....
