    RE: KATO MILW SD40-2 EARLY

    Missing walkways....blind center drivers...hinky couplers.

I'm thinking someone tried to run that big 6 axle on some really short radius track.
The walkways woulda hit anything in the middle of a tight curve....cut em off.
The blind center axle would help the longer 3 axle truck negotiate tight radii and not derail...grind em down.
The hinky coupler would have made it swing more so the car right behind the locomotive wouldnt be pulled off the rails and derail. ¤¤¤¤¤¤¤ize the coupler.

    Just my guess.

I don't understand why someone would chop up an expensive, higher end SD40-2, in a very (very) popular road name, and make it into what is essentially junk.

OK, eBay sellers take a lot of abuse in this thread... but can we spend a minute talking about idiotic eBay buyers?!

Case in point - earlier today I re-listed my brass EP-2 with a starting bid of $1499.99 and a "buy it now" price of $1999.99. OK, so at some point this evening some total freaking dooshbag idiot clicked on the "buy it now" button thinking that he was getting it for $1499.99 and then had the unmitigated gall to accuse me of "bait and switch" tactics when he was presented with a bill for $1999.99. He then threatened to report me to eBay!!!!!!

    Oy vey....

    Cheers,
    -Mark

I'm not surprised to read of this happening. Moron plus computer equals disaster for seller. All too common these days. I've said it many times, some people should be tested before being allowed to use a computer. Duh.

Let us know how this works out.

Being the vindictive yahoo that I am,if he's gonna treat me like that,I'd be darned if I'd give him a break. If you make an honest mistake, and try to contact me,and politely try to back out,I'd give you a break..Treat me like crap because you're stupid? Not today,skippy..Let him report you to Ebay..They'll make him pay..

I agree. And if he tries to post a Negative, due to his own stupidity, get that removed as well.

Actually, I also have sympathy for mistakes.

I am embarrassed to admit that I was ebay surfing one night late a year or two ago, and VERY tired. I sometimes doze in my chair.
I was looking at a nice brass steam engine- and then next thing I know- it said please pay now! I have no idea what I had done! LOL.
Lady was gracious and canceled the auction and relisted.

But this guy is absurd blaming it on YOU!
He must not know that if a Buy It Now is on there, someone can beat him and end the auction at any moment- even if he had been the "high bidder"- even if it has days to go.

Ron,If you don't confirm you're bid,I'm pretty sure you can just click "back",and you're okay.I've changed my mind once or twice, did that, got nothing in my E-mail confirming I bought it.

There is a group of listings for 4-6-2 steamers with no brand name.
The white cardboard box says "Superior Quality Metal Loco".

Does anyone know who made these?

Typically if it is a white cardboard sleeve with a green plastic case showing at the open ends it is Model Power.

White carton is all-sides, including end flaps.
Interior is foam with cutout for loco.

    More "humor" from eBay itself...

You'll follow our process, and you'll like it! Opting out of this is apparently going to be made rather labrythine as well.

Take a look at this auction. http://www.ebay.com/itm/281450667117
The photos are rough but are some of these cars brass? If so, I'm going to kick myself because I'm pretty sure it was listed at $150 for the lot, then someone started bidding.

The pictures aren't very good, so it's hard to tell. There could be some Overland brass cars in there, or maybe it's just a lot of custom work. Either way, I think the guy really did himself a disservice selling them that way. Probably could've made at least 3-4 times more if he'd sold everything individually (and with good photos).

    Cheers,
    -Mark
