Item belongs to Spookshow. As noted in Ron's topic earlier this week, he just did the major tuneup for Mark.
I knew it was only a matter of time before one of my auctions wound up in this merciless thread, lol. Cheers, -Mark
You know, here's what I don't get with stuff like this..I mean, okay,"sorry,I'm stupid about trains"..But they know enough exactly what TOP buck is for it..And really, they're looking at it taking the pics,it's just GOTTA be obvious it's broken..
Just checked this guys other sales and he is trying to sell uncirculated $20 dollar bills for $27.95 each. And what is more amazing is that 37 people bought them. Really?
You know, some people might not be familiar with the status of the Little Joe. Yes, I think it originally sold for 900 something. But that is not really relavent to today, IMHO. I mean I once sold a MT set that was originally worth 32 and sold it for 550. The value of anything is what people are willing to pay for it. In the case of the Little Joe, I knew Mark had been wanting one for years- but they often were so expensive. Every time I came accross one, I'd send him a book mark. So (even though I don't want/need one), I've been watching these with Mark for about 2 years. And in that time they CONSISTENTLY sell for 1500 on the low side and 1800+ on the high side. IN fact, one guy about 3 months ago had one at Buy it now for 1600. Listed it twice with no takers. Finally, he lowered the starting price to something like 1500. It went for 1609! Haha. So think of it. People are paying that much for what often amounts to a shelf queen- since they can run horribly. So I have no idea if Mark can get 1999.99 for his, but his has had all the flaws correctled and runs almost flawlessly. And just in case you didn't see them, here is videos of how crappy a stock 1500-1800+ Little Joe is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5APq3YNDxI And here is what Mark is selling (sorry for my terrible video editing). It will move slowly along over turnouts, it is very quiet, and it does not stall like before. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sP4aJr_Iuzg It will be interesting to see what he gets for it.
Action Comics #1 originally sold for ten cents, but I think they're going for considerably more than that now. Supply and demand, baby Cheers, -Mark
Look what happened when I sold my Kadee/MT collection. I was merely hoping to recover what had been spent, instead got four times that. Times have changed since then, but....
I just did a search on Ebay for "locomotive lot"..Out of 60 items,20 like this came up..Man,I can't WAIT until all this garbage is in the garbage.. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lots-of-6-i...452960?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item541057f620
Here I go, again, but as a Milwaukee Road modeller, who is desperate for SD40-2s, seeing something like this isn't funny, it's aggravating . http://www.ebay.com/itm/N-SCALE-KAT...391826?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item2595957c52 http://www.ebay.com/itm/N-SCALE-KAT...881786?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item1c464305ba I think what's really warped is the seller's expectations with this. Still, if you need a couple SD40-2 chassis and don't model the Milwaukee, these might go cheap.
They weren't run..They were run over..I don't get why they're both in the same exact condition, half of the walkways are missing..And if they're both "unrun",why the difference in price? I wouldn't pay 20 bucks each for them, chassis are probably scrap,too..
Someone actually placed a bid on both of them. http://www.ebay.com/itm/N-SCALE-KATO...item2595957c52 http://www.ebay.com/itm/N-SCALE-KATO...item1c464305ba
I hope nobody else bids. As hard as MILW units are to find, these would not seem to be worthy of acquisition. Unless the buyer knows how to straighten warped shells, and has some spare parts.
Another pesky misplaced decimal point..That's an expensive decal! http://www.ebay.com/itm/n-scale-mic...144622?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item4adc739e6e
