Here's an update on Mike. He has been back in the hospital getting more surgery, but is suppost to be moved back to therapy tomorrow, and then hopefully, if all goes well, home in two weeks. He has been in the hospital since March, so he is really hoping this happens. He said he is hoping to get on-line tomorrow night, so I know he will be here to say hello. He really misses everyone and appreciates the prayers and calls.
Myself...I think Mike just wants to flirt with the nurses. Mike...You get better...you are missed here. .
Mike didnt get the internet like he had hoped. He said there are only like two in the ward and you have to rent them out and none are open. Worst case, he will be on in three weeks when he hopefully gets home. He is having another surgery Tuesday, so I will update when I hear something from him after that. He sure has been through alot.
thanks for the updates Jerry. Tell Mike we are thinking about him and praying for him next time you talk to him. He's a great guy. Hate that he is having to go through all this.

Searching though Railimages looking for my pictures, I stumbled across this thread. I read all 5 pages. I was brought to tears by the kindness shown towards me in that state. All I can say is THANK YOU EVERYONE!!! It wasn't until the beginning of Sept, 2010 when I got home. 7 months! When I got home, I was in a wheelchair. Since then, I've had 9 surgeries in 5 years. I have at least 1 more, maybe a second. This all started with an accident with my train. December will be the 12th anniversary. An accident that I was cleared of any wrongdoing by NJT at the scene. Although I'm permanently disabled, I'm still fighting & trying to return to work in some capacity. Again, I'd like to thank everyone for the kind words, prayers, & love. Jerry did a great job of keeping you updated.

Mike , I am really glad to have you back here and sincerely hope you can return to work at some point . You never know how you miss work until you are not working. It is good for the brain! Wow. What an ordeal. Sounds like having this hobby has been a bonus, as far as helping keep up morale and keeping going!
Hi Mike, great that you're back. Hope you're able to return to work somehow. Pity it's not 80-100 years ago so you could be assigned to a grade crossing and crank the gates down for every passing train.

I have some very sad news for those of you who are friends of Mike. After putting up a good fight for all these years, he finally lost the battle and past away yesterday. He was a good friend and we often chatted on the phone about everything. Even when he was sick, he would call me up after not hearing from me for awhile, concerned if everything was ok with me. I will surely miss him VERY much. I will be at Amherst this weekend and things will just not be the same knowing that he is gone from us. Life is precious, live it to the fullest! This is sad news. I remember Mike from the N-scale.org days. Sincere condolences to those who knew him much better than I did.
Mike, will be missed by many, especially Trainboard participants. Mike was a truck owner/operator and he would often ask me how things were going at the Anthony Texas exit off of I-10. He found out that my wife and I went to the Denny's every Sunday morning for breakfast located at the Flying J truck stop. He also frequented Pilot and Love's. I never met Mike but have felt as if he was my friend. R.I.P. my friend, you deserve all the "high greens" !
