Ysbrand - Thanks! Fantastic stuff from Willkommen bei MBZ Modellbahnzubehr I love their Z scale Oil Pump. Not as US modern as what I was referring to but super cool stuff in Z! Who was looking for Z scale cobblestone streets a while back? MBZ has them.

Randy - Yup in the 5-sided building in the basement.

    Thanks for the help guys!

    Soon in Kits

    John,

The photos show a 2 bay Engine Shed and a 3 bay rollingstock repair Car Shop. The bottom two photos show cardstock tests of the artwork. These were created in 2007 but not till recently (when I had the first batch of SD70ACe handrails made) did I have the chance to have some professionally etched. As tests I noticed the bendlines were not etched wide enough for easy bending without the use of an $80 fancy bending tool. My $55 bending tool barely cut the mustard. Had to improvise some. So, I need to make changes to the few 90 degree+/- bends required for easy kit assembly and resubmit the artwork for approval to be professionally etched.

The two top photos show the buildings in brass and also partially painted. These two buildings are my own. This left 4 sets of buildings open. Two sets and one Engine Shed are accounted for by several fellow Z scalers. Leaves one Engine Shed and two Car Shops open for purchase. They are assembled/Un-Painted. Car Shop is $40 and the Engine Shed is $35. Interested, please contact me.

Will work on a release date for kits soon.

    Update

Almost had to work today, but instead have off. Am working on clearing out some old projects. Working on others. One day off every 13 or so days is just not enough. Well, anyways, today, between helping my parents with outdoor winterization, and Thanksgiving meal, I finally finished the base master for the 3 bay Car Shop. I just fixed it into a mold frame and have mixed/poured some RTV over it. In less than 4 hours I will have the mold to pour the car shop bases. Soon!!!

Here is a photo of the Car Shop pieces (has the styrene bases master in it) to make the Car Shop! Or, it could be used as an Engine shop!

Here is a photo of the Car Shop looking thru the inside! Can really see the embed area for the rails.

Next photo show Car Shop from upper corner.

I wanted to show off this building as out of 5 sets(Engine Shed & Car Shop) I had test etched, only one of the Car Shops has not been claimed/reserved yet. All others are spoken for. (But one set might be up for grabs, so keep in touch)

Here is a photo I snapped today of the Engine Shed with all parts.

Instead of placing the one Car Shop on eBay I decided to see if anyone, who is a TB member, would like first dibs on it. Please, no emails, just reply to this message. First come gets it. Car shop is still $40 plus shipping USPS! Will be ready for shipping as soon as the mold cures and I can cast some resin bases!!!

    SOLD!!!!

    Gerd,

The Car Shop is yours. As I owe you for a task you did for me this past year I hope you will accept this Car Shop as partial pay back for the job. Will box it up and send it your way this coming week. Please send me an email with your mailing address. sgt_tim1@yahoo.com

As for the SD70ACe's, I am hoping to hear from the etcher by next week with an approval to my artwork. Once approved I will give them the OK to proceed with the etching. Hopefully I will get the brass within the next 30 days as this will be a great Christmas present as I can't wait to be relieved of all these SD70ACe's!

This is a beautiful set of buildings. I am constructing something similar but smaller from the N-scale Micro-Engineering Petroff plumbing supply kit. The door and windows need some changes but the height and width are right. The builder has to make all the openings so it can be customized readily.
