New Ford vans (and a few cars) - these are loaded onto low-deck intermodal flats using special deck containers! And some new Fiat vans - freshly arrived! This is a slightly more conventional twin-unit vehicle flat.
It's a twin-set, the two vehicles are actually one wagon, but yes, that van straddles the joint in the middle!
No different, really, than a triple 57' Long Runner articulated flat... Here's a really long shot, from atop a huge cut east of Dale Jct, WY on Sherman Hill. The train is threading thru the crossovers west of the junction, and about to duck into the cut that contains Hermosa Tunnel:
Only in the summertime, then it is time to visit other locations. Since the weather is still kind'a nice here in So Cal, I will make my last visit for this season to the BNSF Needles sub the coming weekend.
